I've been using Durex in the purple package. Recently I've had 2 break and was wondering why... What's different? Then I realized I had been getting them at a good price from a no name pharmacy. I wondered if they were black market and after some Durex research, I learned that I had been getting Chinese condoms. Durex has them made in Thailand, India, Malaysia and somewhere else, but not China...

So if they say made in China, maybe purchase them at a different place?

Another one who despises Durex they are horrible and sticky, they gave me awful thrush a few years ago, they smell and taste funny and they are grossly overpriced in my opinion.

Passante all the way for me.

OT: Nothing really to add except lube, lube, lube and drown their cocks in there if you have to because your comfort and safety are more important than some whiny punter complaining he 'can't feel anything' I normally say "that makes two of us" and they get on with it.

I know this would never happen in a million years but I had this hilarious thought that in an alternate universe condom boxes would be sold with as recommended/tested by escorts slashed across the front.

Or only the best escorts use Skyns.....etc

On a,serious note overdoing the lube too much can end up making condoms slip off. I've had this as,I produce a lot naturally but imagine the same could happen with lube you apply.

Years ago I read about a study of condoms in Nevada brothels. They actually collected the used condoms and ran them under the tap to test for breakage. They discovered that the failure rate with prostitutes in brothels was significantly lower than with the general population and attributed this to correct use. Prostitutes are more likely to apply them themselves, correctly. They're going to use lube. They're less likely to have pounding marathons of the sort that moves the bed five feet across the room. That sort of thing.

Same here about the durex, I had always assumed they must be the best due to them being most expensive and their 'reputation' But since changing to passante I've not had a single one split or fall off, also I very rarely get BV nowadays.  What does amaze me though is that you can't buy the 'trim' ones in any shop, only online. I recently bought some skins extra large for the rare occasion where normal size are a tight fit, and am also amazed that I've actually used the 12 that I bought  ;D

Had a Pasante XL split today during anal sex.  The client had not ejaculated but had done a lot of pounding.  He was wide and large ...

We then went for some pussy action and this time used a Durex XL which again SPLIT and he had ejaculated this time.  He looked rather horrified.

I must admit it has never happened before in 3 years of sex work and I always use enough lube.

He was pounding away it must be him?

Annoying but it is time to go and get checked in two weeks time anyway at the sexworkers clinic but it just goes to show even a Pasante can split.

I had specifically bought Pasante XL after reading on here that they were so much better than Durex!

Think on this occasion it was the guy and his technique.....

He was married and uses escorts seldom and always with condoms he said.  So he does not seem especially high risk but I am still a bit vexed.

I have had problems with Durex as well, I had 3/4 split the first year I was working using Durex extra safe.

I have been using Mates Ultra Thin / Trim / Ribbed / what ever for the last 8 years and not had any problems, I do find they may dry out and I always change them between position changes and oral to penetration.

All the info you need has been given, change condoms try some out you can get lots at good prices from freedoms.nhs and always use lube.

I like mates skyn too and mates regular. I had a red coloured pasante condom spilt a while back but the client was pounding me. I used plenty of lube too..

I do not like Durex, I find they make you a bit wiffy during flagrante.

I either use Boots brand which are lovely or Mates.  For anal play on clients I use Savers own brand.

I have had both skins and pasante split on me. This was my own fault. All 3 times was because I was having anal and I didnt lube up!

Haven't read the whole thread but I can honestly say that I've only had a split condom a hand full of times in 5 years.

If you do OW, change the condom before having sex.

Make sure you use a tiny little bit of lube (if you need it) but don't over do it otherwise your client will barely feel anything.

If your having sex for any longer than the average few minutes then change it if you start to feel any friction.

If your having vigorous sex then change it if you start to feel any friction.

I thought you would feel more if you put lube on?  Learning curves on this thread!!

I use Durex, no reason, just a brand which is well known.  But I'm seriously re-thinking.   I do buy "special" condoms but they are not regularly used for its high price.  I'll look into Skyn.  It must be dear right?

Nooooo if you flood yourself with lube then there will be no friction what so ever which means they won't be able to feel anything x
