I’ve invested . Brought a few flats . Have a few family holidays a year but get a big tax bill due to this job my day job and the flats so July and January are painful haha

But yes I can afford a private dentist , things like private vitamin injections , weekly massage , nails .

About to start looking at a home abroad ready for that eventual retirement

As I have kidney failure I know one day it will catch me out so I’m also putting money back for my stepson and partner for that day when I’m
No longer around . X

I have bought two properties from my SW income. One for cash and recently a second property with a mortgage. I'm not in an expensive part of the country but I doubt I would have been able to do this and also live a comfortable( not extravagant) lifestyle unless I was doing this job. I plan to add more properties so I can retire on the rental income I receive. Hopefully within 10 years or so.

Many of the above on top of my civvy job. Although starting to get a bit tired of SW now and feel like slowing down.

Think I've got enough saved and invested that I could slow down and carry on with a nice civvy job just to keep me going.

I like how the money gives more options. I hate the average Joe whining about being skint and wishing that they could afford this and that. Never have and never want to/will be that person.

Would just like to say I have a very different experience to some of the ladies above. I have a child so I can’t work every day.

What it has enabled me to do is pay for a good education for my child. To be able to buy healthy food for us every week. To be able to take amazing holidays and show my child the world. I don’t have the childcare to be able to save up vast amounts of cash, but I do what I can and most importantly I get to spend lots of quality time with my child instead of working all the hours.

Escorting saved me from a life on benefits scraping by and being in a low paid part time job as a single parent. I am eternally grateful for this.

Love this thread !

Although there’s been some hard times especially during Covid it’s given me so much freedom and opportunity . I decided to do this 7 years ago I was working in finance in a one bed flat skint with debt coming out my ears .

It’s been a long road but I’ve bought a lovely semi detached in a leafy suburb. Travelled to Bali , Italy , Spain , Amsterdam , Greece , New York , Miami , Las Vegas , Nashville , Florida , Washington DC. It was the travel for me . I’ve also cleared my debts , got my teeth done and generally don’t worry about money .

I don’t know if anyone can relate to this but the best thing for me has been for want of a better term , taking a massive shit on people who thrived on the thought of being more successful than me financially . I come from quite a toxic family and I was born into poverty to a single parent family and lived on a council estate . I was at the bottom of the pile and my family ( excluding my amazing mum who did all she could for me ) always revelled in me being the poor one . They don’t know what I do they still think I work in finance haha .

The pleasure I have taken in running rings round them , showing my mum and grandma with gifts on special occasions , taking my mum around the world , showing up in things they could never afford is so satisfying. The shock and ‘ how does she afford this ‘ and watching their self esteem’s drop in my presence is so fun haha .

I know that sounds awful . But anyone who can relate to those circumstances knows how empowering that can be :)

Regarding work, I can relate to this. I feel I'm not that good at my current job and feel that my team know it... but I'm the one that has no mortgage and has cut down my hours and have more flexibility to do what i want. Unlike them moaning about price increases and not being able to afford stuff.

Throughout my years on and off escorting I've had some great money making times.
I've only ever been part time so I probably could have made more money.
I do top up cash these days if I get work but it's certainly never as good as it used to be

Before this I was really struggling. I had tonnes of debt that I could not pay off. There were lots of sleepless nights and panic attacks.

I only do this part time since I have a regular civvy job which does limit my income from SW but Ive still been able to make a start paying off debts and getting my life back under control.
The biggest change though has been to my mental health which has massively improved. Being able to pay bills and buy basic things without having to count every penny has been a real life changer for me.

I'm now mortgage free and had I not escorted and ploughed through dozens of bookings a week for a few years then I reckon I would still have 10/15 years still paying off the damn thing. The tax man got his share but even after that there was plenty left.  My aversion to paying designer prices for ANYTHING has been a major factor too. That money is in my savings and not on hangers in my wardrobe 😀

I passed my driving test and bought a discovery sport. I bought my daughters a pony and pay for full livery. We go on a few holidays every year etc.

Tbh I sit and wonder where the money goes. It’s depressing lol I’m absolutely shit at saving though.

You have things to show for it though and memories to look back on.

I was already mortgage free anyway, but during 8 years I've saved loads. But I often think for what unless I retire early. I'm on my own, so I have no one to leave it to anyway. I'm about to turn 40 and I often think I'm saving money but for what? I own 2 properties outright, so I know it's a nice position to be in, but I'm completely on my own and think I've missed out on having a partner and family. Maybe not a family as such as never wanted kids but I can't go on holiday with someone etc
These days there are no Prince Charmings. A girl just has to be her own hero

The pension age is likely to be 70 or more when you retire, if you even wanted to continue until then (plus there won't be much of a pension left by then anyway). You might not feel like it now, but with savings you'll be able to live out your days comfortably and without worrying which a lot of people would value, especially if you need any extra care. As for missing out on a partner, you could live another sixty years!

I'm somewhere in the middle; one property owned outright, pension with less in it than I'd like but still ticking over and I'm building my savings back up after covid wiped them out with rent and living costs when we couldn't work. I'm not minted by any means, but I can buy pretty much what I want when I want and not worry about bills, which after years of barely scraping by on a pittance is fine for me.

I do have a lot of money on hangers in my wardrobe (and in dustbags, and shoe boxes), but virtually all of it was carefully bought second hand and can be just as easily sold :D

I worked between 19-33 years old (am 35 now) and it paid for my MA, supported me during my PhD, bought me a house and a car.

Pretty sweet!
