I am new and still finding out the right etiquette for this profession. I have two, looks like, good bookings for next week. Unfortunately my mum was admitted to hospital last week for a heart by pass. Thankfully she is now recovering and is being discharged tomorrow. I am going to have to be her full time carer for at least a week and part time for some weeks to come. Now I am going to have to cancel on these two gents, I wondered if it would be ok to offer to reschedule if they wish and as a good will gesture offer a discount. I don't want to be seen as unreliable and I really want to get some experience behind me and good feed back. What do you all think. Timing eh, she wasn't due to go in till July and I thought I had time to get up and running.

I do exactly that and have for some time now, it works very well for me 

Sometimes due to circumstances my schedule can be unpredictable so if i have to cancel a booking that's what i do. I don't offer a massive discount, but 10-20 off my original fee tends to entice them to re-book and also goes some way to reassuring you're not wasting their time x
