A walkout who returned - dodgy or I paranoid?
« on: 26 November 2015, 12:46:24 am »
Today I had a guy who came to appointment and the moment he got in the bedroom was looking around and asked if I alone, said he had no cash he'd nip to cash machine and be straight back.  So I just assumed he was a look and go or I wasn't his type.  He then sent quite a few texts saying his card been swallowed blah blah and how beautiful I am etc.  I just ignored.  But spider senses raging thinking he just come to scope out for a robbery later.

Tonight, very late he just turns up at my apartment so I ignore the door, he then starts knocking on my living room window.

Not sure if he just a thoughtless nob or he was intending me harm. I get so paranoid with these type of situations.

What do you think ladies?  Am I paranoid?

Definitely not. I would have called the police without a second thought, so if you didn't do that you're less paranoid than me :).

Fuck 😱

This is crazy behaviour. His actions at first were creepy if nothing else, I would have totally been creeped out at him asking if I was alone and things and would have been glad that I wasn't his type.

Showing up unannounced later is completely out of order and knocking on the window and stuff would have scared the shit out of me too.

From what you've told us, it is difficult to say whether he's dodgy as hell and is looking to pull something on you or whether he's just a complete ignorant arsehole with no social skills, no skills with people what so ever, no sense of boundaries and other people's feelings.

I would try to avoid him at all costs and then if he doesn't take the hint or shows up again under another number or something, phone the police.

What did you do?

I phoned my security buddy and kept them on phone just in case he tried to force door, but he didn't.  After knocking for ten minutes, which felt more like 6 months he walked off down the street.  I watched him leave but he's a big fella, at least 6 foot 6 and 4 foot wide, I wouldn't have stood a chance.

I just felt the texts were to keep me comfortable so I would let him back in.  It might have just been innocent and he's new to this and doesn't understand boundaries and what is acceptable behaviour.  But I not taking that risk and opening the door.  He came at 1055pm outside of my working advertised hours, perfect robbery time for days takings.  Although I bank daily in the mornings I might start going at different times now.

this is very scary, I agree with the girls and also as Amy said I would have been inclined to call the police without a doubt.

This is what worries me the most just to be sat minding my own business in my home and a nutter comes a nocking, must have been terrifying. I would have called the law to hopefully nip in the bud any more visits x

No you are not paranoid. My friend had something similar happen when she was quite new.I was in the apartment with her in another room as security when she let her client in.2 minutes later she came into the lounge ashen faced as he had apparently asked for a look around the flat then demanded to examine her pussy before then saying he wanted to go and pay for his parking and he would return. When he pressed the intercom 5 minutes later to come back in,I grabbed the intercom phone from her and told him she was not there and I had called security...weirdo!No way is things like that normal behaviour and yes I would have called the police.

This was in Dundee but not sure if he a local to here.  I not heard from him since and he's not been back. So am starting to think he's just a nob and not a danger.

You are not paranoid!  This is scary.

I do see what I do as a business and while I have kept my tongue held (within reason) to keep a client when I am closed it's just like the local boutique being closed.  Would a customer go pounding on the boutique windows after hours?  I think not!  If they did the owners would not open the door and say "sure, it's 3 hours past closing time but come on in and shop, I'll make an exception for you because you were aggressive."

Please be extra vigilant about watching your surroundings.

I used to tell them my 'girlfriend' has just nipped out whilst we are alone for an hour to give us privacy. So we are alone for now. That used to turn them on whilst also keeping the appearance that I wasn't alone. He shouldn't have come back knocking. Sounds like he was pushing his luck.

I'd have shouted through the letter box that I wanted him to leave & that the Police are on their way.  I'd also be tempted to take photos of him, his car registration etc on my phone through the window. Sounds like a total nut job  & I'd be even more paranoid that he'd come back again. Lets hope not.
