Have some drink and relax.  I never used to but it does seem to help.

It can be the start of a slippery slope though...

I don't really see this is a special problem for sex work. Set your hours, both actually working and being available for calls etc., then switch your phone off and do other stuff outside those hours. Perhaps set aside an hour or two a week for advertising, admin etc. Bob's your uncle!

Im finding I need a routine, I need set days and times when I'm 'available' and thats it. Hard at the minute with the kids/lack of childcare and the overtime in my day job so routines gone to pot, and jeez do it know about it.

Kay's comment hits the nail on the head.....

Dont know my head from my arse and cracking the wine open to wind down with every evening. Only now, several months later I'm realising 'Ive drank every day for months, not missed one, even when ive not been working, its habit, kids in bed, crack open the wine' And to say Ive been brought up by an alcoholic and seen the derailment, I should have realised this a lot sooner.

This is exactly what happened to me. I used alcohol to distress and relieve boredom on tour. It got to be a daily thing and I got fat. So I quit.

It's not a good habit to get into, drinking to solve your problems never really leads anywhere good and I'm not fond of drinking alone anyway, certainly not at home I'll usually save having a couple of drinks for when I go out for a meal or clubbing with friends but I'll rarely drink at home especially not during or after a work day.

If a day was a rough one I think a hot bath and a hot chocolate drink does wonders.

I turn off my work phone, go for a walk, watch various things on Netflix. I have a games console I sometimes use, though not much at the moment. Sometimes I go into central London and wander around.

:) Geese, difference between have some / in moderation and get pissed every night..wine cotains beneficial properties, how Italians live long...winkle free without costing the earth with Botox.  There's scientific data building up..it used to be any alcohol can kill you.  Not now.    :)

To unwind I put something comfortable on, pyjamas or leggings and vest top, soft slippers dressing gown then I get my bedroom ready by turning my lamp on, make sure there's no obstructions for me to climb into bed, (cats are fine though ;-)) Or if not too tired I run a lovely radox bath sometimes I take a drink in there with me either wine or a whisky and lemonade...After that I sleep like a baby..

Home, sweet home!   :) Wish the weather is better e.g. shortage of sunshine.  I'm kinda feeling unmotivated due to darker, longer  nights.  Might consider ordering  that special lamp,  which might help me invigorate in the morning and unwind at night.

Yes, but I'm just saying be careful. One glass can turn into two, and so on. There's a difference between enjoying a nice glass of Merlot with your dinner and NEEDING alcohol to numb out the day.

It may sound dull but I am a great believer in vegging out and watching some tv or a decent film to relax and switch off in the evenings.  You can't beat a good film or a good crime drama in my exp.  Not watching too much world news is a good idea as I end up then worrying what havoc and mayhem Donald Trump may bring to society .....  I just watch a small bit of news for mental stimulation and to keep myself in the loop.  It isn't relaxing though and I often remind myself it is the wrong time of day to be seeing it etc.  Daytime is best e.g. lunchtime over a sandwich.

Certainly, I wasn't suggesting the latter.   :-*

I thinks she is referring to a SAD lamp, the dark mornings and nights tend can lead to Seasonal Affective Disorder. Symptoms include...

?Lethargy, lacking in energy, unable to carry out a normal routine
?Sleep problems, finding it hard to stay awake during the day, but having disturbed nights
?Loss of libido, not interested in physical contact
?Anxiety, inability to cope
?Social problems, irritability, not wanting to see people
?Depression, feelings of gloom and despondency for no apparent reason
?Craving for carbohydrates and sweet foods, leading to weight gain
