I don't really let it bother me because I believe we are all entitled to our own opinions, whatever they may be about.
What does bother me is when people bang on about stuff they haven't fully researched or understood. Still, I can't dwell on the fact that ignorance is everywhere and can't let it get me down. There will always be ignorant people out there, in all walks of life who don't even
want to know the facts let alone take them into consideration and we are powerless to change that.
I find this to be really comforting when I'm faced with the Swedish Model argument -
http://www.nswp.org/fr/node/1536 (For those who don't want to read it all; The World Health Organization sees full decriminalisation as a minimum global standard.)
And POW! I feel better because I just think, "Who are they to tell the world health organisation that they're wrong?"
I have a couple of the PDFs published by WHO on my kindle (converted to .mobi for ease of reading, but that's by the by) and started reading one but haven't had enough time to really get into it. Will have to put some time aside to sit down and really have a good ol' read. I'm sure there's so much more I would need to learn but I'm all up for campaigning online or writing articles in favour of full decriminalisation under my work name because it's something that I feel strongly and passionately about. But I simply can't risk 'coming out' to do it.
So I suppose on reflection, it both bothers and it doesn't bother me while not being brought down by it. If that makes any sense.
