So I have a family member who is in the situtation in the long run their illness could be terminal. I have had to stop working and don't know even how I would work because I only tour, and it seems practically impossible due to them being in hospital every now and then, needing moral support e.t.c. I work part time so that can bring a bit of income. And before anyone ask if i can claim  care allowance, I can't. Any one been in this situation and some how managed to work?

TVH, sorry to hear about your situation.  Its obvious that we cannot survive without money.

Have you considered going to CAB to get some advice.
Beauty is nothing to do with having a pretty face.
It is about having a pretty mind, a pretty heart,
And most importantly a beautiful soul.

Hello

I'm in exactly the  same position as you. I have to do short tours and work flat out. Sometimes I have to take a month or so off at a time because of hospital admissions. Its incredibly stressfuly. Plus if you cancel tours you look unreliable.

Does your family member get any care in the house? Do they have a social workers? My family member has a great social worker. They have just arranged night care for when I'm away working. Have you contacted your local carers support service? Your GP can put you in touch. They help you  know your rights. Also have you had a carer's assessment? It accesses your needs. You have a right to be able to work and social services are obligated to provide care for your relative whilst you are working. Also do any family members help with care? Can you rotate it between you?
