I'm not a fan of hotels in victoria, most of them tend to be quite nasty to be honest.

I normally book in kensington and get 4stars for between 60 and 90, usually with lastminute.com and their topsecrethotels

normally mine tend to be around gloucester road tube, radisson and millenium bailey being my favourites

If you have  a look at the topsecret section it tells you their closest tube and distance, I've always had good experiences with these hotels and infact the only bad hotels i've been in are ones I haven't booked through it!!

I like the Radisson too, but it's not ideal for working as you need a keycard for the (teeny tiny) lift - this can be a bit off-putting to clients, and a pain for you to have to keep coming down to let them in. You can draw unwanted attention to yourself if you are busy, too.

I completely agree about Victoria hotels; there are a couple of nice 'boutique' type one, but they are not really anonymous enough to work from. I can second the recommendation for Laterooms too! :D :D

You don't need a keycard for the lift, it says you do inside the lift but you don't.

Well admittedly it's a few months since I was last there, but I do remember using my card in the lift; it was a pain so maybe they've disabled it. You definitely needed it for the door to the stairs (which anyone over 5'8" & ten stone would be well advised to go for
 ;D)

I stayed in a hotel in buckingham a few months ago that did total over kill on the card thing.  you needed it for 2 entry doors then the lift and all the internal doors, the room door and to activate the lights.  I was a bit drunk when i got back late.... it was so confusing lol

Na, you don't need it at all anymore! Only when youre in the room. The staff can be a pain in the ass in there though.
