Thanks saltysweet. That makes sense. Have you ever had to show an ID when checking into the hotel you booked?
You're welcome. Have you an ongoing stalker problem?
I can't recall being asked to show ID. But hey!- hotels can see my ID if they want, passport or whatever I've no reason to hide my identity.
I've given a client my real name to book a plane ticket to the Middle East, and all was fine.
I'm wonder if you're fearfull that most callers are stalkers not clients?
What do you imagine will happen next in the stalker scenario?
Also, what would happen if I met a client at a pub for example and then decided to go to a hotel. When we go to reception would I Then have to give my real name and show my ID with a matching bank card? I just don’t want the client to find out my name!
Guests don't have to show ID as they haven't paid for the room. Fake name is fine.
If that was the case when you're on tour, you'd have to tell your 'guests' to bring passports or driving licenses and show them at reception.
If you're new to hotel life and really nervous I'd suggest booking a hotel tour for a single day, as a working- pamper day. Enjoy the facilities, eat there, use up their hot water and watch how hotels work
. Get a feel for it. Rather than jumping tits deep. If you get one client who covers your costs it's a nice bonus.
