Hey everyone This isn't my first post, but im still working at the moment and don't want my working name to come up with this post at the moment!

I recently found out I was pregnant - completely accidental but when I went to go for an abortion I just couldn't, I just though it was the only thing I could do considering my profession!

The thing is - money! I'll be working until I start to show, having never had a baby I've no idea when that'll be for me but imagine probably between 3-4 months? I'm two just now so doesn't leave me much time!

Once the little one is here I'll be entitled to enough to get me by and lha which will pay the majority of my rent. Unfortunately as I'm under 25 im only entitled to a shared room rate until the munchkin is born.

Ive been escorting for 3 years, made and maintain my own basic site and blog etc etc.

My question is, is there a market to work as a receptionist/admin, I'm British and my telephone manner has never been called anything but lovely, literate enough to do emails (and blogs?) and pretty much take over all the non-shagging side of things.

Is this viable? Has anyone considered having someone do this for them before?

I'm pregnant with twins and started to show after a short while.  But I'm guessing that twins is quite different to having a single baby.  To be honest I thought after webcamming and doing some escorting but I was scared of doing something to harm my babies.   Pregnant women are very prone to picking up urinary tract infections, some guys don't have very good hygeine when they touch you down their, and unless sex toys are very, very clean they can introduce an infection into the womb.

I decided not to risk it and just do some phone chat for a company.  The money that I'm earning could be better, but that's partly because I go to bed at midnight and therefore don't work throught the night like some girls do.

Would you be able to claim JSA while you look around for a job?   I know you say you don't like phone chat, but I do work for a good company, and would be happy to give you their details if you PM me.

You're right about the lha shared rate however there is also a 12 week protection regardless of your which means that if you could previously afford your rent before applying for housing benefit and had not received benefit assistance in the 52 weeks prior to your application you are entitled to have your rent paid at the rate it is for 12 weeks which would commence from the 1st monday following the date of your claim plus income support as opposed to jsa from the 29th week of pregnancy.
Obviously that's not much help to you for the period between when you stop working and the 29th week but if you apply for housing benefit earlier you are also entitled to ask for a discretionary housing payment which is designed to assist when there is a shortfall between the lha awarded and the actual amount of rent charged so you could have your 12 weeks paid at the protected rate then apply for discretionary award at the end of that period.

Thalya, I'd never heard of that before, it's 13 weeks so aprox 3 months. I think I'll go and have a word in the offices (and get that NI bill paid!), I imagine if I get myself by till about 4/4.5 months when the 13 weeks are over I should be far enough along for them to award me the discretionary payment.
