Just a quick question to stop me flapping. Do you always have to wear hold ups? Ive got a booking in an hour and 2 pairs of mine have literally just laddered and the only ones i have just keep falling down. Is it unprofessional not to wear them? Its for an in call x
I like wearing them as I do not wear them in my private life and as soon as I put them on I am in 'minx mode'.
I have tried every pair of hold ups I can get my hands on and as I have long legs that has mainly been as the length has not been good enough. I have found H&M's are lovely and long (?4.95 lace top) and I often wear them as stockings (though their stockings at ?1.95 plain top are brilliant too). The toes are super reinforced and they rarely snag and run, you just get a little snag. I also find it easy if you buy the same ones all the time as you can pair them up. Before I was getting 2 jobs out of a pair, these last 5 or 6 it seems, plus more from pairing up.
During the day I am now opting for the natural ones, with a light coloured lingerie set, summer dress and closed toe shoes. Even when it hit 25 degrees the other week they were not killer hot.
I tend to get a lot of clients in their 50's , they seem to love the hold-ups and dressing like a lady, so tend to just keep my outfits similar.
BUT even if hold-ups or stockings and suspenders are popular, if you do not like them, then do not wear them, except maybe upon requests. There is nothing worse than not feeling comfortable.
