Hiring a driver?
« on: 03 September 2011, 03:33:45 pm »
hi everyone ^^ this isn't a driver wanted ad (please don't move it) but more of general questions about the concept.

atm, i only do incalls. i've never done an outcall at all, due to various concerns about safety and such. But i do get a lot of requests for it so i'm thinking that it might be nice to have someone to drive me places to see clients.

Assuming i can manage the aspect of finding one well enough, how is it generally advised to go about such services? i'm not sure if i'd have work for him every night, or even every week, so i'd probably pay him pro-rata for time spent driving me around, or perhaps distance driven/petrol used. What is a usual wage for a driver?

and what about for long appointments ? is it customary for the driver to wait outside, or to come back and pick you up when you're done? should he be paid for the time that you're there with the client?

and i'm not really sure how much extra i'd charge for outcalls. a flat callout fee, or a generally higher rate? perhaps both?

any thoughts on the matter would be appreciated!

If you pop "driver" into the search form, you'll see a few helpful threads amongst the less-helpful ad ones. This thread, for example, covers some similar questions. :)
