Hi everyone,

I don't know if you've been experiencing the same thing but I always find that people who prebook the day before for the following morning ALWAYS cancel (it happened again this morning).

Like literally I can't remember when was the last prebook for the next morning that actually happened  :(

I always send a message 1 to 2h prior to the booking to double confirm we are still on and I always either get a reply back saying they want to cancel (that something came up at work, missed their train, the usual bullshit) or in a lot of cases I never hear back from them, literally no show (I mean it costs £0 to send a cancellation message at least  :( :()

I would even say that in general, people who prebook me always cancel (with notice or not), that's why I've decided I will not bother taking pre-books anymore and if someone wants to pre-book, then I will tell them to text me again on the same day. (I've actually already been doing that for people who want to schedule a booking 5 days or more in advance, I tell them to text me closer to the date and in 99% of the case, I never hear back from them afterwards).

What do you think about this ?

Thats exactly the reason I stopped advance bookings they done it to me several times do not show or get back in touch , so I say book on the day if they want  me unless we already met before .
Sometimes they sound genuine but end up to be arseholes .

I used to take (new) advance bookings with a 7am confirmation and had so many not confirming or confirming then cancelling. I only take advance bookings from regs now or those who send a booking request via AW. I've lost count of the amount of my time I've had wasted by guys who book the day before then disappear.

Yes I do the same unless it’s a reg. I either tell them to get in touch on the day to book or if they are adamant about booking in advance take a deposit

Set a rule that they have to confirm by x am and if they don’t, book someone else in.

I tend to give 9am deadline for 11am bookings
And 10am deadline for the rest.

This way it gives enough time to find someone else as replacement. Works 99.9% of the time, have to be truly unlucky to not find a replacement.

Yes 2 hrs prior for early morning bookings, or by a slightly later but before 9am time for any other time advance booking.

Yep, it's partly why I don't accept bookings before 1/2pm unless it's a regular.

This has definitely helped me. Since taking deposits for all new clients, I haven't had my time waisted and it really helps to avoid 'undesirables'. I'll never see a new client again without one. Also I think it attracts better clients.

Yes I forgot to mention that I might still accept advance bookings for regulars (someone who has seen me more than twice) but even in that case, I generally get about 50% of cancellations from regulars like literally happened again last week where this guy whom I've seen 3 times before booked 2 days in advance and literally 2 hours before the agreed time on the same day, the guy told me that his work schedule has changed and that he can't make it anymore  >:( >:( (I'm sure if I hadn't sent him a message to confirm he was still coming, he wouldn't even have told me)

But this idiot doesn't realised that he also messed up MY ENTIRE SCHEDULE on that day as well (I declined a few potential genuine bookings because of him). I was mad honestly  :-[

Will probably tell him that if he wants to see me again after this, he will have to bring the 1h fee + 50% of the 1h fee extra for messing me around  ;D

That's why I think that I won't even take advance bookings from regulars anymore, I just feel that because they are regulars, some of them feel that they have the right to be flaky and mess you around, like because they've seen you before, they feel like you won't be as mad if they cancel their booking at the last minute or do some carrot dangling

I know that implementing a deposit policy could be the solution to avoid cancellations but I also know that asking for deposit can also put many genuine clients off (I've asked some of my regulars if they've ever paid a deposit and most of them said that they would never pay for a deposit, some others told me that they've been scammed before that's why they are very skeptical about it).

Pussycat on the other hand I'm sure they are also many clients who are willing to pay a deposit to show they are genuine but I mainly get short bookings so not sure the type of people I get would get used to the deposit policy but if you provide longer bookings or outcalls, I'm sure that works indeed.

For pre booked bookings I always tell them to confirm me by x time. If they don't I will take something else.
Yes people will confirm me later sometimes and If i didn't filled that space i can still see that person, otherwise i will text back and say "I told you to confirm me by x time, you Didn't and I took another booking". I ask regulars to confirm me as well. Nothing is for sure this days.

Oh and I used to text them to ask if we're still ok for x time.. I don't do that anymore.  If I don't hear from them (no confirmation ) or closer to the time, I know the booking is not gonna happen and is a block because he's a time waster.
