First client of the day, a really lovely regular who happens to be 55, 6'4" and 20 stone is over the spanking bench in latex hood and gag suddenly mumbles through it 'I'm going to pass out' 1 hour into a 1.5hour session.

I whip off the gag and hood as his head hits the bench and he starts snoring really heavily (which threw me, I didn't know that could happen when someone passes out!?) so I quickly take the toy out of his ass, undo the ankle cuffs while trying to work out what to do next when he goes silent....I look up and he's going blue and i realise he's not breathing!!! I couldn't even move him a millimetre, never mind to the floor he was too big and heavy, so then I totally freaked!  I started shouting his name and gave him a heavy slap on the back and this brought his breathing back.

After what seemed like forever, but only long enough for me to run and get my phone from downstairs, he started to come round, but so slowly! He was really grey and kept saying he felt weak and unwell and it took an hour for him to get dressed and feel well enough to leave (I tried to get him to stay a bit longer, and even offered to drive him in his car to hospital or a local hotel so he could call people and say he took ill on the way to a business appointment but he wouldn't as he was so worried about being found out!!.)  I told him I was 1 second from calling an ambulance before and he panicked about that too!

It has made me realise that we take our own safety extremely seriously, and in a BDSM sense, I take my clients health and safety just as seriously, but not being able to help in that scenario makes me wonder.  What can I do if this ever happens again?!  Does anyone else have a plan for this sort of thing? 

A few years ago when I first started I always had someone in another room for the ones who'd had heart attacks/bypasses etc, but over the years I have become complacent.  But that said, that is like one out of 1000's of hours, and he had never had any health issues before.  It was just such a helpless feeling knowing there was so little I could do, and that it could happen to anyone at any time and you might be the only one to stand between life and death for them. 

To top it all off, I never even gave him half an hour of his money back either!  I just wasn't thinking straight.  And now I'm on edge about tonight's appointments too.  What a nightmare!!!

Omgosh that is so scary! I'm glad he's okay and hopefully he's recovered now but I'm sure you're in bits. When I used to do that kind of work, it was in a "facility" type place, I wasn't independent, there was always someone on hand if it went wrong (it never did for me luckily though), you would just hit a panic button. Perhaps you need to re-think your procedures? I never had to deal with that, the manager did, so I can't really give advice but perhaps you should discuss with new clients what they'd want you to do if things went wrong re calling an ambulance? Have you taken any first aid courses? That might make you feel more confident. If I were you I probably would have ran to throw my sofa cushions on the floor and just hauled him down with a thud and probably have broken his neck or something - it's hard to know what to do in a panic. I think you did the best you could for sure xx

Hi Kinky lady, That sounds awful.

My advice would be to try a first aid course or familiarize yourself with basic cpr  (new first aid advice recommends that you just give chest compression's to the beat of the BeeGees classic 'staying alive') also I know you were worried about injuring him when you moved him off the bench but don't be worried about a few bumps and bruises occurring when getting him on the floor (as long as his head is not going to hit anything hard), a bruise or cracked rib is better than being dead.

It sounds as though you handled it pretty well all things considered. I hope the guys goes to get himself checked out x

I hope you are feeling a little more settled.

In all fairness I think the fact he had 1 hour of a 1.5 hour booking is the last thing on his mind and why would you think he is due it back anyway?

I've completed numerous first aid courses and refreshers as in my line of work its essential.Ibwpuld suggest you get yourself booked onto one pronto.Not only so that you have some idea of how to help but more importantly so you know not to panic.
Before any sub sessions with me, they are required to complete an extensive questionnaire.There is a section on 'Health' and therefore highlights any issues there might be.
As for the refund..He's not entitled so don't give that another thought.

Health questionnaires are lovely, but there are people prepared to lie in order to get the sex they want. First aid courses are lovely, but the primary purpose is to keep people alive - good old 'ABC' - until someone better qualified and equipped can deal with them.

In a completely different context, as one of the people in charge of something, we came to the decision that we'd stop pretending we offer a first aid service and instead start calling an ambulance if someone with a problem couldn't get their own ass to an NHS Drop-in / A&E. As volunteers, we're not paid to deal with it and 'it is not our monkey'.

If you had done that, he'd be embarrassed and the ambulance crew would have an amusing story to tell, but his chances of dying would have been reduced.

As far as giving him 30 minutes money back goes, if anything he owes you for the extra time he had...
