Has anyone not turned up?
« on: 22 July 2020, 07:26:39 pm »
Hey,

So, I'm part time and work around my day job and studying and had a 2 hour booking for a proper BDSM session which is normally up my alley but I've had to cancel and re book loads of times due to being on call. Got called in so didn't turn up at 7 like I was supposed to!

I feel like a proper dick and have major anxiety about cancelling again and saying, so I've just blocked him and worried about the fall back! Please tell me I'm not the only ones whose not turned up  :-[

I rarely do out-calls, but no, I'd never not just turn up. It only takes a second to text.

This isn't an industry where you can always avoid conflict or please everyone. Unblock him, bite the bullet, apologise and stop taking bookings if you're on call. It's unfair to make commitments if you're unable to commit. We all mess up sometimes, just own up to it and you'll feel less anxious after.

I wonder...do you mean you blew him out without telling him?
Because you were embarassed. Yet he seemed tolerant and flexible of your change of plans.
No, I've never done that and would not.

No, very rarely have I had to cancel a booking and I’ve never not let client know

I know how frustrating it is to have a no show and that works 2ways

No, I’ve never done that. How would you feel if you were sat waiting for a customer and they had gone silent and blocked you? It’s time to grow up and contact the poor man and apologise. I’m assuming you are new to the industry?

I think it is not a good idea to just not turn up and block as clients do this to us all the time and it is not a nice feeling.

I understand you felt embarrassed having to cancel again so took the easy option and blocked so you do not need to deal with his response of another cancellation from you but it is far better just to send a text cancelling so even though disappointing least they know you will not be turning up.

But ideally not a good idea being on call for another job when trying to do this it will probably give you more anxiety juggling the 2 and having to cancel yet again.

But no i have not just turned up and blocked on anyone i always cancel even if not much notice given.

Not turning up is not fair, if there's a chance you have to cancel either tell the client or don't accept the booking.

To block and not inform is not acceptable.

Honestly, stop taking bookings if you’re on call. I rarely sympathise with clients but if I showed Up with a couple hundred quid in my pocket and was left waiting with no explanation, I’d be livid.

Either make a note on your profile explaining that you might need to cancel.

Obviously you don’t have to unblock him but in future a text takes thirty seconds to send and it the basic level of curtesy.

How would you feel if a 2hr booking did the same to you? Not show up and block you? Courtesy works both ways  >:(

No, I've never not turned up. God knows we deal with enough timewasters in this industry without being ones ourselves.

If you're not free to take bookings. Don't.
