hard sell...
« on: 14 October 2008, 01:52:26 am »
I know im not the only newbie on here that is frustrated at how slow this whole thing is taking to get off the ground (I know... patience and all that).

Does anyone have any good tips for how to get noticed and get the first few bookings in?  Ive had a couple now but the initial 'new girl' emails have slowed to the point im suprised to see one when i log in.

There must be times when some of you notice things get a little quiet and im sure there must be tricks to generate interest again?  (that dont involve forking out lots of cash that i dont seem to be earning at the moment!!!) lol

Please help, ive never been known to have much patience and i think i have done well to last this long without screaming my services out loud in the high street dressed in my finest stockings.... help before i go mad!!!!!

Thanks
Lexie

I've simply signed up to every directory I can find. I've started reviewing how to SEO my site with keywords and am trying to get my blog going too. I've updated my photos on my ads and am trying** (Sigh) to make my words good. Your ad on a directory, it's the words and the pictures that'll get 'em first to your site, short attention span/first impressions. I get almost no emails, and really only get calls. Those are the only things I can think to suggest!! Hugs x

As for paid Ads, Forking out a fortune is not an idea I like either.

Don't loose heart Lexi.
I find it slow - you just have to keep reminding yourself this is a business and like any other you have to keep on top of your advertising all the time.
Things are picking up for me, in the email and calling sense now but it has taken a long while and still I am not where the majority of the ladies on here are.
There are many factors to take into consideration, it's not personal, you have to remember that.
Just keep at it (ha) and you will see a return eventually.
We are all rooting for you.

Lexi, have you signed up to Punternet? It is a paid listing but it's only ?12 a month. They're the biggest in the business and the original directory. Every time there's a documentary on telly re: the paid sex scene they get a mention. I get lots of traffic from them.

If you haven't yet, then give it a try. You get to advertise on their ladies announcements twice a month. You have a permanent listing (as long as you keep up payment on it) and guys can always find you using the search facility. When you join you'd be asked to write a small profile on yourself. Use words that would be picked up by their search engine. For instance I'd use "Black" "BBW" "London" and a couple of my specialist services. It's how guys have found me before.

Times seem to be tough at the moment for people in general so it may be difficult for most anyway. I'm just stepping out and re-thinking my approach and then hopefully some good times may come.

yes it is a business and a business usually takes about 3 to 5 years to take really off, that are the average figures, and think how blessed we are in our business how soon it takes of and we are relatively well paid. whereas most other business start ups you work for free for a long time to get it started.

also all world speaks about the credit crunch at the moment, which might or might not affect us, i personally think it affects us less than other businesses, and i think our business and the entertainment one is the last that suffers,

i have an ad on AW and they feature you when you sign up initially, which is the same as you say being the new girl, which as i have noticed myself declines after time and than i had or have a similar situation as you where only occasionally is an email, or a booking.

with adult work you can get featured and i think that would help, thinking about it, it has the same affect, no a similar effect as when being the new girl. that's worth a consideration

i do agree given advertising a telephone number you can be called on definitely helps and i think most clients will call and few are writing an email address, also i think having means doing incalls helps.

i personally had to turn down to many wanting incalls and i hadnt the means doing the incalls and few were willing to pay for a hotel room on top of my fee, and i didn't wanted to pay for the hotel room really

also with me having a busy day job i have limited time where i actually can do a booking. and i wish i have more time and more clients soon

i hope that is of any help :)

I can also recommend Punternet - I also get lots of traffic from there (the only one I get more from is Punterlink) and it is the only paid advertising I use. There are hundreds of free directories too but I don't know how some of them work regarding free sites - I know someone mentioned a while ago that not all directories accept links to these (PM me if you want a list of the busier ones).

I agree with Jo too - it is a business and nothing is instant (I'm sure that occasionally a new lady will suddenly appear and set the punting world alight, but I don't think it happens often :D). I was lucky when I first went online as there are not many other ladies around here and I soon gathered up a steady stream of nice regulars, but you will too - it's just patience and perseverance and no different to running a shop or a restaurant (only better pay, better hours and more fun). The people who think that escorting will make them instant millionaires with little more than an AW profile and some fanny pics won't last long - clients expect a decent service when they part with their money (even more so at the moment) and if you are fun, enthusiastic and professional you will be fine.
