I am currently down with tonsillitis. I wonder if a client gave it to me  :(

OMG I had no idea you could catch it!
Had mine out at 9.
Random idle thoughs...Can I manage 100 sit ups a day for a year...?

Yeah, it's highly contagious bacterial or viral. Lucky for me mine is bacterial so I only had one day of feverish bedridden crappiness. Doing tons better today thanks to the wonder of penicillin.

"Tonsilitis" is not a particular illness. It just means an infection of the tonsils. "-itis" means that whatever precedes it is poorly. So, "dermatitis" is a rash. "Hepatitis" is when the liver is ill, either due to one of many viruses or chemical onslaught (excessive alcohol, usually).

Anything that infects the throat can cause tonsillitis. You can get that from a client or anything.
