Going for it
« on: 29 August 2014, 05:46:09 pm »
Hey everyone, after a lot of research and serious though, I have decided to go into the escorting business (yay!!)

Am going to change my name and get some professional photos taken.

I am nervous however, mainly because I still live at home and have a full time job in the daytime.

Does anyone else feel like this?

Most girls/women are nervous at the very beginning.  No one is alone however once they find SAAFE.  Read as much as you can on the main site and it will set you up.
Beauty is nothing to do with having a pretty face.
It is about having a pretty mind, a pretty heart,
And most importantly a beautiful soul.

When I lived at home with parents it wasn't to long before they got suspicious. All that can think of is how paranoid it made me having to live a lie to their face. I even was beginning to think about if they already knew but didn't tell me. Mum found out in the end not by me. The reactions differs.

Good luck to you. I never did this when I was at home but I know all too well about the anxiety that comes with starting up. My advice would be to take it one client at a time. Do the first one and see how you feel, after a little while of taking clients you will know if its for you or not.

Hi, I hope I don't come across as sounding really mean or rude but this forum is for current or former sex workers.

It's really not. :)

Both.

The input of a former sex worker is still valuable.

We had to start some where at the beginning to. It can be for lurkers to if we are talking about the audiences. Talking about sex work regardless of where we are at it with it qualifies for posting on this forum. Is my understanding.

I found Alice comment rather uncomfortable. But then again we all have views according to our perspective. I just felt OP needed a boost of support/ confidence from all in the industry. I've always viewed Saafe as the place for support for those already working and those that are starting out. ( perhaps I got it wrong too)

Op wishing you the best, I know it gets better with each client you meet, and the anxiety gets less too. ❤️

We all sympathise that it can be very nerve-racking getting started but there is a lot of advice already on the main saafe website and on this forum already.

No, you just sound wrong. Very wrong, and had I seen this comment earlier it would have been removed.

SAAFE is aimed squarely at newbies, and that includes both the main site and the forum - yes, we recommend people read the main site articles before coming here to ask question that are already answered elsewhere, but that's more so that they may access the information need more quickly and be able to focus on the more specific things they need to know.

I suspect at least half of our posters over the years arrived here before they had actually started working and were still not much past the 'thinking about it' stage, and thank God for that. Where you got the idea that we would exclude newbies on the forum I literally haven't got a clue, but lets hope the OP hasn't been back on between then and now.

I've not long started - always happy to swap notes! And I'm relieved to say, so far so good.

Most clients have been lovely, or at least polite and respectful (though a couple either hadn't read or ignored the guidelines for the type of client I see...) Only one was slightly aggressive, but not at all threatening.

Good luck!
