I hate the way you are almost looked at suspiciously sometimes when depositing or paying for something in cash. I like cash and like having it in my purse. Also, surely there are clients with spouses and clients that work in certain (notable) sectors and professions that would rather continue using cash to maintain discretion.

I don't like to bring this up as it puts me about thinking of it, but wondered what people's thoughts/feelings were about how we seem to be going cashless and how it might affect this industry? Albeit, I'm aware some girls already operate digitally and it may not matter to them and that there are numerous other businesses that still prefer cash too.

There is to my knowledge only one bank that offers an account for those who dont have ID which a luxury to some.

There was a documentary on the tv a few months ago and it was stated cash will be used for another 40 years.

I use cash all the time and nobody batters an eyelid.

I pay all my cash in via a machine in the bank, I have used 2 different banks over the years with no issue doing it this way.
This move towards cashless is something I have been wondering about lately myself simply due to how the pandemic has moved things on so quickly, 2 restaurants I have been in recently told me they were cashless and a few shops in my town are that way too, although most places will still take it.

I have looked around to see if I can take payment safely in other ways.  I have had clients tell me they have paid by card with some providers, but in every case it's via a service that does not allow sex work, if anyone made a phonecall to the card payment company, the provider concerned would get into trouble, and sods law says that would happen to me.   All services I have looked at don't allow us to use them.  I am really reluctant to use bitcoin, most clients don't want to do bank transfer as it shows you their name, and mine too, so not discreet.  If anyone does know of a safe and honest way of taking cashless payments I would love to know.

I used to put my rent into mY landlords bank account inside branch with a reference on a machine it was so helpful but the banks have stopped all that. I feel your pain x

I use cash a lot and its not a problem although some businesses only take card which is fine as I use both.

I do accept bank transfers from some of my regulars. They don't need to know your full name. I give my surname and initial which is fine.
