Going back to a full time job
« on: 10 May 2015, 08:20:48 am »
Hello everyone,

I need some advice and perspective from anyone who has been in this position. Well, even if you haven't, feel free to chime in :)

So, about a year and half ago, I quit my professional job as I was beginning to hate going to work. I did like my company, it was just the nature of the job that didnt suit me. At that point, I was already escorting at night. After I left my day job, escorting then became my primary sorce of income. It was during this time that I discovered how lucrative incalls are and have since been doing those frequently.

I've been  offered a job in a different department with my old company and I've been thinking if I should accept. The job is something I'm mildly interested in but I'm very reluctant to give up full time escorting which I truly truly enjoy. I wish I could do this forever but I don't see myself doing so. I loathe the idea of giving up my freedom and independence. Plus, while the salary is comfortable enough to maintain my current lifestyle, what I make in a month there, I could earn in 3-4 good whoring days.  I'll definitely still escort in the evenings and weekends but it's not the same :(

I never realize what a wonderful lifestyle escorting has afforded me, and not just financially. Has anyone ever succesfully transitioned back into the (non-sex related) working world?

Hi if your enjoying escorting so much and doing well with it, don't want to give up as you have stated then don't. if it isnt broken don't try fixing it  :)
if I could earn as much escorting as I do the day job id have given that up ages ago.

Hiya

See i think the financial side of this job can be a curse. I worked a great job for 12 years with a big company although i love escorting I'm looking now to return to the real world. I feel escorting for me has fixed a problem but also feel the longer i continue the harder it will be for me to give it all up. Everyone need a plan mine was 5 years escorting get in make as much as i could get out. Im 4 years in now and just handed my notice in on my flat. I'm going to spend this last year touring then thats it for me.
I like to think I'm quite level heading and thankfully since i started escorting I've always only ever paid myself a wage everything else has gone into savings that way i can't get used to the silly amounts were capable of earning. If i was to have lived off my earning there is no way i could ever leave escorting and live on a normal wage.

I think the main thing I'm trying to say here is to have a plan to return to work it may not be right now for you but start to prime yourself. Live off a wage limit your spending with a view to get out. We all have a shelf life with the job and the older, bigger you get the smaller your market of customers get and the harder it gets to make money. Most of all if your out the workforce for 10-15 years i would see it being harder to get back in a good job.

Hope that helps x

I've just transitioned into (nearly) full time work but that was because I wasn't enjoying escorting. I've found it nice actually. The pay is lower - but I never liked seeing many clients anyway, or doing incalls, so it is a similar amount per month if I also do 2-3 bookings a month as well.

What I really like now is that the money I get from bookings I can spend on nice things for me like a nice haircut, new books, clothes, meals out etc. and I don't HAVE to ever take a booking if I don't feel like it. I never worked enough to get used to having loads of money and I'm not somebody who spends extravagant amounts of money or goes on holiday all the time either.

Also because I have depression and anxiety I find having a set schedule really helpful - it gives me something to do with my time and gets me out of bed. When I was escorting full time I'd lie in bed until the afternoon and cancel loads of bookings because I had zero motivation. So I find a part time job suits me. It's low pay, but it's also not as emotionally draining as escorting.

All the best with the civvy job Alice x
Beauty is nothing to do with having a pretty face.
It is about having a pretty mind, a pretty heart,
And most importantly a beautiful soul.

I'm glad you're finding the balance you need, Alice. It makes it a lot easier to give up escorting full time. A big problem I have is how much I enjoy it. Whoring has empowered and enriched my life and I will miss it. Though I do agree about lying in bed until the afternoon. That has occured more that I like. Now that my stint as a full time ho is nearly coming to end, I'm beginning to wish I had more time to do the things I had set out to do but never got around to.

As much as i want to be an escort for the rest of my life, it's not practical for me to do so for reasons outlined by Nik. I also hope to settle down some day and I don't see myself prossying while having a partner. i personally couldn't handle it. Kudos to those girls who can!

I think you are on the right path and this is going to be even more evident in some 10 -20 years' time.  Escorting part time only is the best solution in the long run.  There are more important things in life.

Thank you LL!

Maybe a job for one or two days a week would be good for you cara, or something where you could work from home :)

I agree. Keeping one foot in both camps could be a solution for a lot of girls especially if work is getting thinner on the ground.

Hiii

I am currently transitioning. I spend much of my day comparing the hourly rate i'm on at work compared to escorting and well i find escorting much easier.. I still escort in the evenings a few nights a week but i do sometimes wish i was a full time escort. But i think a full time job also gives me a foot in the real world and my escorting money is then just money for fun stuff i guess. And it keeps me more sane. Its a really difficult one to suggest. How would you feel in 5 years time if you didn't accept the job offer? Would it be there in say a couple of years etc? xxx
