How to change your mind
« on: 04 May 2017, 02:18:04 pm »
I have on my profile that I don't see Asians for the sole reason that they have turned out to be the worst T.W and no shows.

If I take a booking over the phone, agree time, date etc then ask their name and I suspect they're Asian, how do I then say 'sorry are you Asian as I don't see them.'

I'd hate to offend and I've been called a racist whore before now for politely turning down someone who asked if I saw Asians.

Would you take the booking, then cancel a while later, citing family problems or something?

Just tell them you need to check your diary and you'll call them back, then don't. Though if it was me if it's on your profile it's their fault for not reading it and I would tell them the truth. xx

No, whatever your reasons, if you don't want to accept a booking, I'd try and say so at the time. If it's just 'bad vibes' I say I'm not working/busy and save the number in my phone as a 'no' for a few weeks.

I'd try to turn it into 'I've made a mistake, I'm booked' or if you have the courage just advise of your rule. I have a rule about seeing anyone who's been drinking, or even accepting a future booking from someone who sounds drunk. I will ask but sort of turn it into "This isn't an accusation, I just want to make sure............".

On those awkward moments my boiler breaks down coming across apologetic.

You could say sorry I just noticed in your diary of a booking.

I think as you state on your profile you don't see Asians then you should tell them on the phone when they try to take the booking.

Incidentally if they sound nice and polite to you and pass your screening then why does it matter if they are Asian? I find timewasters and idiots give themselves away when making the booking and have had many lovely reliable Asian clients from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Hong Kong, The Philippines and Japan and so on. It seems a huge number of men in the world to rule out.

What happens if you don't ask and they show and are Asian, do you turn them away? I know plenty of Indian men who have or use a western name.
