Can we please stay on topic and please people don't comment who had never had anything assistants?
My question for this thread wasn't for random thoughts. Thank you

I'd hardly say our comments were "random" and most of us never have/would use an assistant.

That, my dear Kay, must certainly be because we can’t afford one 😂😂😂
(I’m quoting here the last 2 lines of the OP’s original post).

I employed a personal assistant she was based with me in the flat on working hours. She was a professional SW freelance assistant or receptionist who worked for girls in the area for years so was well known and trusted. Mostly she was very good it took the strain of vetting from me. She'd also make tea, snacks and clean.(She was my wife!) Later I sacked her as she became argumentative. Non of the dispute was about how she handled clients she was fine with screening. We had set rules. (I know you don't want someone in your place but thought I'd chip in. She was dealing only with phone calls as I don't use email bookings.) I paid £50 a day. I don't know how much someone would charge doing it from home.

I wouldn’t trust anyone with my Bookings
I want to know who is coming through my door
And I don’t think anyone can screen my clients as well ac I can
I get virtually no no shows at all
Last  NS one was over 6 months ago
So I wouldn’t be trusting my income and in many ways my safety with another person

Jokes apart yes I think most of us agree on screening personally each and every client we agree to see.
But each to their own.

No offense OP, but you sound a little self-righteous. Sorry, but nobody is that special. If you really feel you are that busy then good for you. Last time I checked however, normally people who brag about those kinds of things are in fact quite opposite. In my opinion the assistant thing is just a lie to make it sound like you're busy. But hey if you want to waste your hoe money on something like that then all the power to you.

yeah, because nobody in this forum can read what I write.

I'm asking question about experiences of having assistant but I'm having to explain myself why or wouldn't have I need to have one? Don't see where al this thread go wrong?

I write some words in past tenses too but people won't notice it too?

Tbh, my site currently gets 9-11k hits a month because I just had done good seo and have banner ads on some sites, therefore as I said I would like to retreat from 10h admin week as I mentioned before. I have done this, I have checked my thyroid because I thought I have fatigue problems because of faulty thyroid  ;D but it wasn't that, it was just too much on my plate. you like this information or want more?  ::) ::) So therefore can't keep up with all requests I have and yes, recently I have decided perhaps it's time for assistant because of all these things as I basically do not have social life and yes, I envy people who have onlyfans or so - who I see on twitter makes pictures everyday and I just think - so envy that they have time for doing that, I would love that.

Also if you want more info, it's possible I will have cancer in 5-10 years, so thank you,  but I want to live my life a bit before dying and admin is not such a fun part of time to spend your time in this world.

Now can I get some replies of your experiences of having assistant? If not, please do not reply to this topic with your gross opinion of me.

I also have no idea why the negative comments? The OP asked simply about others' experiences of getting an assistant.

Whether someone is busy or not and whether they choose to spend their money on an assistant or anything else is nobody else's business. And plenty of others on here are continually telling us how busy they are without anything being said. If you are busy, that's great, we all want to be busy.

Don't we get enough judgement already outside our community?

OP I don't have an opinion about an assistant but I do agree with many others that I think I'd prefer to screen my own clients myself. Perhaps someone to help you with other things like the SEO and social media side of it could take some pressure off?

Most people on this forum can read very well. That’s where I believe the problem lays. Personally, I read through your posts and honestly I didn’t like it much.

Yes, most of the time when you want to get advice that would really help you, it’s a good thing to explain. In your case here: “I, the OP, need an assistant because of my health problems” It sounds completely different to “I, the OP, am a lazy cow and can’t be bothered”.

I think a few of us took your need for assistant as you not being very good with time management. So their replies, while not seen as helpful by you, were still helpful because they concerned time management/optimisation.

We are not here to judge you.  Give us relevant info and we will try to help. We don’t care about you increasing your rates. Or about the number of hits you get. Or how booked ahead you are (totally irrelevant in case of ladies who simply do not take advanced bookings).
Also don’t give contradictory info, as far as my reading skills go I read at the end of your first post that “everything is perfect”. Is it? Or is it not?

I understand that you have health problems and fatigue issues. Well in that case your time must be precious. You don’t want to waste it here arguing with us for hours and hours. If I were you, I would PM those ladies here who mentioned having assistants, check if they are local to you. Maybe they can help more? Because there’s no point turning the thread into a nasty argument, Amy will lock it.
Oh and don’t say “can we get back on topic please?” That seriously annoyed the f*** of me. Seriously.

not as much as me when this topic became of me explaining myself.

Can you explain to me why this topic became me explaining myself why would I need assistant? Like if the topic is about bad case of thrush and how to treat it I don't see comments 'but do you really have thrush?", etc.

Because like I said a bit later on, when you give relevant info we can simply offer better advice, if it makes sense.
It’s not about explaining yourself. It’s about providing people with enough info so that they can work with it.
Here: me in a shop « I need a dress and it must be black » The sales assistant will probably offer me all sorts of dresses. It’ll annoy me and waste my time. I will waste hers too.
Me in the same shop « I need a black dress for a funeral ». Clear and simple. Just providing enough information. I’m not explaining myself here. I’m giving relevant info.

You at the beginning of your thread: I’m looking for an assistant. I have health problems and fatigue issues. I would like to hear from those ladies who had experience with assistants if there are any.
No one would annoy you trying to tell you how to manage your time better.
It’s not explaining yourself. It’s providing relevant info.

Since the OP is clearly only interested in the replies that tell her what she wants to hear (and has apparently been appointed moderator somewhere along the line - I must have missed that) there's no point in this continuing on the board - anybody who wants to contribute the aforementioned can do so by PM. Everybody else needs to remember not to be a twat, even in the face of such extreme temptation.

I'll leave it up if for no reason other than to show anybody who might be thinking of moving into receptionist (and from a legal POV, controlling prostitution for gain) work, and was wondering about the sort of people who might be hiring them.

Locked.
