Hi everyone,

I'm not sure this topic has been discussed before but do you adjust your rates in different regions (UK) ?

For those who tour regularly, do you have specific rates for every city/region you go to ? Or do you keep the same price for everywhere ?
(Indeed, I've seen some girls having different rates for every single region but seems a bit complicated to follow and can get quite confusing I guess especially for clients or maybe it's the best way to get busy pretty much everywhere I don't know)

As well, if you go to a certain place and let's say you're not busy there (assuming other girls are charging less than you do), would you consider lowering your rates for that specific place (and potentially getting busier) or would you rather leave and never come back to that place ?

And for those who stay in one place permanently, do you adjust your price to the regional market or do you set your "own" price solely based on your own judgement and on how much you're willing to earn for 30min/1h/2h, etc ?

For me it's about my running costs and expenses. Trains and hotels are so dear these days that if I go to an expensive city like London I absolutely have to raise my prices just to make it worthwhile. I do check what other people's rates are to give me an idea of how many others in the area are charging what I'm hoping to charge (if that makes sense!)
If it's quiet I might put phone chat on to try and drum up interest rather than lowering prices but I guess there's no harm in trial and error!

Well I'm in London where the rates vary from 20 quid ish to £1000 an hour or so ;D.

I have no specific idea what anybody near me charges because I've never looked; I know what my costs and extortionate rent are and how many bookings I'm prepared to do in a day/week, so I set my rates according to that. I never changed prices for different places when travelling because the increased work offset the extra costs (or why would I bother going when I could be at home?)

I do weight things so that bookings of one hour and less are favourably priced relative to longer bookings because those are the ones I'd rather do, although I've stopped short of making a two hour booking double my one hour rate. I likely will at some point, though - I put everything apart from half hours up a little at the start of the year when my rent went up, so I'll be leaving it all alone for as long as is practical now :)

yes same I always put my London prices a bit higher because hotel costs, expenses, etc. are mad these days, I think London is a bit particular as all girls there (if they tour) seem to raise their rates when in London but I'm also really wondering whether I should adjust my rates in other regions (London not included) because there seem to be quite a few variations between regions in terms of how much clients are willing to spend (I always feel that clients from up North clients are generally willing to spend more than those from the South) but obviously it varies

Amy, yes your pricing strategy is also good, focusing on your own costs and how much you're willing to work without looking at what other girls charge is also something I might consider doing, I think I need to tour even more destinations to assess what works best for me  :)

There are so many variables it's like the Krypton Factor!  ;D I take into account the economic situation of the city rather than north versus south. But essentially I've got two rates - one for Not London and a slightly higher one for London. The higher rate is just to try and cover travel and higher hotel costs keeping in mind that I can't do high volume. If a destination seems too cheapskate I don't even go there because my lowest rate is as low as I'm willing to go.

I’ve been touring the UK for 10 years and my rates are the same wherever I go as I offer a variety of services, so they have a choice.

I recently put my rates up. I couldn’t be bothered swapping and changing them based on area as it’s too much admin plus clients can be thick enough as it is without adding price confusion to the mix.

I don’t tour in London so can’t comment on that.
