Gay/Bi Male advertising in London
« on: 07 October 2016, 08:37:33 pm »
Hi

I'm looking at getting into male escorting in London. I'm bi, but assuming that most clients will be male.

What places do people recommend advertising and how best to get noticed? A lot of the sites look quite dodgy and I'm not convinced by them.

Are there any places worth advertising for female clients? Would an advert which is mainly targeting men put off female clients?

Thanks

Being a man will be more than enough on it's own to put off the tiny number of lone female punters all on it's own, so I wouldn't worry too much about that.

I can't easily post links as I'm on a tablet but if you have a search for things like 'male escort' you should hopefully get at least a few hits that aren't from the Straight Male Escort Myth thread. Try 'beginning male escort' too, if memory serves :).

Adultwork is a good starting point, id prob forget the idea of female clients, if a female wants a fuck she can get 1 for free at any time of day

Thanks for the replies

I had a look at adultwork, but almost all the guys seemed to be straight guys hoping for a hookup by posting bad camera selfies and dick pics. It didn't look like it was catering for gay/bi male clients.

I did have a search on the forum, but most of the posts about gay/bi male escorting I could find were from years and years ago.

I guess I should also mention that I'm open to prosubbing, but I guess that's something worth listing in my profile rather than having other sites to advertise on.

I'm under no illusions about female clients, and I've just been reading that hilarious straight male escort thread (I'm a virgin and can't get laid, will women pay me to have sex with them?  :o :o :o :o :o)

Well Adultwork's an option which is free (and you'll get more work from there than Gayswap, it's sister site) but yes, it's not really the way to go.

Sleepyboy and Gaydar are still around AFAIK, and there's also print ads plus things like Grindr. Hopefully one of the resident gents will be along soon, but in the meantime I'd recommend a spot of Googling - if you were a punter looking for you, what would you search for? Then sort some ads out on the sites that come up :).

I think the TV/TS section on adultwork will be the best place for you to find gay/bi male customers. You could also advertise your pro subbing services there too.

As above, yes, AW is -regrettably- your widest audience, but as a transperson, be aware that AW doesn't totally get those who don't fit into the binary notion of gender.

Guys, yes. Girls, yes. Transgender people....well...the main search features, are ok, but tours and other sections where you search don't include transgender people at all, and AW do have a problem in verifying too as they changed my profile gender to the 'wrong' one and I cant change it.

Folks, the OP has made no mention at all of being trans?

I'm not sure where it's come from or why AW is being repeatedly recommended, but he's said he's a bi man looking to find gay/bi male clients, and has asked for advice based on this.

The reason I suggested advertising on TV/TS section on adultwork is because the 'male escort' section on that site doesn't seem to be taken seriously, as the OP said there are loads of guys just chancing it trying to get a free ride off a woman.  I can't imagine any genuine client looking on there for a male.  A lot of them will say they are bisexual when they are not. The OP said he is.

I know a guy who wanted to become a male escort, he made a profile up on the male escorts section and for months hardly got any response...So he scrapped that profile and created a TV/TS one and was suddenly of interest to a lot of men wanting to book him and he is now busy (seeing men and the occasional couple too)  Take a look, just about every profile on there is either gay or bi, there are virtually no straight men there. This is where the niche for male escorts is (IMO).  :)

But I also agree about googling for gay/bi male escorting advertising sites I'm sure there must be some.

Thanks for the advice everyone.

I'm somewhat genderqueer, so could adopt a TV persona, but I'm not sure its something I would want to do straight away. I think I'll avoid adultwork for now.

Having had a look around, I think I'll give sleepyboy and vivatsreet a go first off.

You could also try rent .men and men4rentnow .com
They seem mainly US based but do have some UK guys on there too.

I would agree with Katrina that you would probably get a lot more interest if you advertised as a tv escort.

I?m a tv escort and i have ads on Adultwork and Vivastreet, and the vast majority of my work comes through Adultwork. I do get some interest through Vivastreet but mostly TW?s far more than i do through Adultwork.

AW has its issues but you will get more interest there than the same bunch's GaySwap.

As far as print goes, it looks like Boyz have completely stopped its escort ads (they got squeamish about explicit ads a while back, so this isn't an enormous surprise) but QX is still doing them. They're cheaper than using the national gay press and have a very wide distribution on the gay scene.
'The Ian formerly known as SW5'. What they said: "Indispensable", "You are our best resource", and (hours later!) "I'm afraid that you're being made redundant..."

I have a friend who would like to start escorting; I've resurrected this thread as it does have advice, but not sure if it should be a thread of it's own as:
- he's not London based, and
- he's gay and only wants male clients.

He did know another male escort years ago but they don't speak anymore, so he doesn't really know any other men he can ask. I have been looking up sites for him, I'm happy to help him out with his profile, photos etc and things to help him get started as I suppose I know we all know what its like to start out alone - plus he is a friend. I'm just not sure if there's any other places I've missed besides the obvious ones we advertise as cis women looking for male clients (AW, VS etc). I've found Sleepyboy, I suppose there's Grindr and Gaydar (think you have to be careful in how you word things there), but I'm not sure if anyone else could advise please?

We have spoken a lot about it in the last few weeks and he's asked me a lot about my work - not just the financial aspect, but things to do with security etc. I do know that some people do have horror stories when they've helped a friend become an escort, but he's actually been more interested in trying to take it seriously and understand what I do, and not just thinking "oh I can make loads of cash!" Hopefully he does keep thinking that way, but for now I will try and help him out at least.
