Fridays Ads -does anyone have the stomach for them?
« on: 06 August 2010, 10:32:01 am »
I met up with another escort recenty who swears by Friday Ads - the free paper. She says that she gets between 5-10 bookings a week from it.

Obviously you have to give out your "details" all the time, but I wondered as business had gone down so much if any of you had girded your loins and taken the plunge.  Apparently it is ?100 for 6 weeks advertising.

If you use the friday add or adds in the papers i would use a seperate mobile  number to your website  that way you can moniter the amount of bookings you get from it also allows you to work out if its working for you or not  i tend to find that the website booking are more reliable as apposed to the paper bookings who will book and not turn up ect or want it a lot cheaper  and generally treat it like a massage parlour ie turn up when they feel like it

It will also allow you to prioritise your website bookings which in my experience are more genuine than the adds in the papers  if you do do it be prepared for lots of phone calls and lots of timewasters ect i worked from the newpapers adverts for several years and could not go back to it  although i do put an add in every few months or so and  leave a messsage on the phone directing them to my website ect which alsos works quite well

Hi Pandora

We work the same patch  ::) so I am aware of the exact paper & local adverts in it.  Now I used to only advertise in the local paper a few years ago & I would get about 5 clients a day. I did try the free/friday ad paper & it was useless? But around the same time I had to give up escorting there was a bit of a taboo with the local papers to do with costs & paperwork  ??? so most of the girls in the coast of Kent switched to the free/friday ads. I know of some of the ladies that advertise in that paper & most of them don't do internet as well, & the ones that do have only have recently started to do so. I don't know if you are bookings only escort? but I have found the papers to be more for the 10 Min's notice client. I have also found that you then fit into needing to offer 30Min's (not sure if you're an hour only escort) so hence this reflects in the fees tariff. I am going to offer my services at a high mid tariff, as I am only doing out calls due to no work flat, plus I going to be a 24hr notice escort, so I need to cover my back money wise. I don't know what your set up is, but you could work under a different name for the papers & give it a trial.

Please let me know if that's ok how it pans out, just I am in thought with this one myself.

Totally agree with you Paris.

I sometimes advertise in my local daily paper and the free one although not for a while and the guys are mainly timewasters calling all hours of the night and even when they do call in the day they expect "now" appointments even when you say you work by appointment only  ::)

Then they want it cheaper or lots of details which I don't give out over the phone and hate being directed to your website  ::)

Never thought of getting another number for those ads though Paris so thanks hun  :-*

lol  im queen of the bloody sim cards  if i advertise anywhere thats in newspapers  i just get a seperate sim card for it and make a note of what adverts its for  -    this is especially good for the sport newspapers and  sites like gumtree ect  where you might not be able to put your website details
could not deal with having loads of idiots calling my website number asking for details ect so definalty worth it

I've been trying this Friday ad site, been getting quite a few calls but they all don't seem to understand the work escort, even though I'm under the escort section.  ??? They just keep mumbling "massage" at me. Leading all of them to my website after asking "what are you looking for" but none call back. So odd. Seems to be they mainly want massage & HR. Not a qualified masseuse, does it really matter? I asked one of them what he normally pays & he said 80 quid an hour...

yes it's worth it if you do massage. I've not had one booking from it though & it's ?30 a month. I put my advert vac to massage to see what I get. I think a lot of them think it's illegal in my area.

I am recently back on Friday Ad after a long gap maybe 12/18 months. Due to my circumstances I had to have some kind of interim advertising.

Well you have to wade thro so much chaff to get to the wheat, there are some bookings but there are so many timewasters and idiots.

Also this time I've had a lot of calls from posh old duffers saying they'd seen me in the paper when all I'd paid for was the online ad, I assumed they'd made a mistake but no I am apparently in there as well.

My gripe with this is that in the paper version I believe there are far less details than even the online version therefore even more questions about the more basic stuff.

The  other thing to know is that every time I go back on there have been significant changes the structure of their ad packages and often this isn't clear. This is always about price rises of some kind.

As I said I have had some genuine bookings but yes there are lot of people asking for massage and hand relief or just a HJ which I just don't do.  Generally there is no middle ground it's either very working class guys or these posh old duffers.

they are offering free trials at the moment. Had a few good leads from them. They messaged me again with the discount code forgetting that I've already done the trail  ;D

With online Friday-Ad it really depends on the area you advertise in.

For me it works well when I am in Enfield - Surrey Egham - Royal Tunbridge Wells - I always put the exact post code first part to where I am doing my incalls.

I always get nice clients from there older vanilla man. Course times I get calls from idiots who are not white and fail to read but not once have i got a bad booking ( touch wood) from there.
They are very limited to what you can or can't say.

Friday adds is very worth it depending on your location. Some places I get nothing from it, other places, quite a lot. x
