« on: 16 November 2012, 10:37:14 am »
I would like to hear opinion of escorts u r doing both at same time.
When i went to college for second year and started to escort i had to stop because as to much for my head.
But now thinking to go back because i don't plan to escort for the rest of my live and seeing my life i think is a must.
I done travel and tourism and airlines and ticket booking but this one i did not finish.
I also enjoy fashion and beauty but now next year i m thinking to enrol but I'm very confused what the do ???
Anyways i would like to hear about any escort in this situation.
Thanks

I got into a massage and holistic therapy course at the last min this year! It's only 2days a week but suits me perfectly. I only like to see a handful of clients a week anyway and do alot of overnights so it doesn't really make that much of a difference for me income wise. It's something I have always been interested in and wanted to do. I hate the stigma of doing something like beauty therapy or hairdressing has from narrow minded idiots though. When I mention it to some clients they kind of seem to look down on it like it's probably all I'm capable of doing which is not the case. It's not just an NVQ I'm doing, it will take me up to three years to become completely qualified and it's something I genuinely love an am actually quite good at! Like you I don't see escorting as being forever and I don't want to wake up when I'm 30 and be like shit where's my life gone!

If you think your in the right mind set I say go for it!

From personal experience I'd say that if you wanted to focus full time on studying and also continue escorting then you really need to be disciplined by sticking to set hours in which to study and in which to work. Also you need to leave work at the door when you get home. Of course there's admin to do but try to maybe set aside an hour a day to deal with that and then concentrate on your studies for the rest of the time. Compartmentalisation and self discipline are the most important things if you're trying go study at the same time I think.

This is absolutely sound advice, and exactly matches with my experience of combining escorting first with studying and then with freelance work.

I personally could not even study in the morning if I had bookings in the afternoon, as I'd be far too distracted by all the humdrum admin and cleaning/tidying/preening stuff to do to self and incall apartment before the bookings. So I would also recommend being strictly realistic about the amount of time you'll actually have available in the week to *focus* on work, rather than skimming through a textbook while making mental notes to get your washing out of the machine so the towels are dry before your client arrives later etc etc!

And then I also wouldn't usually study after an afternoon of bookings, due to feeling physically and emotionally spent - not in a dreadful way, but just the usual way that anyone in a 'giving' job feels by the end of the day. All I would want to do is eat a nice dinner and watch TV shows!

If you are a total machine when it comes to time management and switching between vastly different headspaces, then of course my experiences won't apply to you. But from your post, MissPretty, it sounds like we might be a bit similar! So definitely set aside Study Days to be separate from Working Days so you don't feel like you have to deal with both things simultaneously. It's very overwhelming.

The only thing I would add, really, is to take your time and research lots of course options and really choose the one that appeals to you the most. :) DON'T think that there's anything you "can't do" because it sounds difficult or has a reputation for being tough, etc - the truth of the matter is, if you love doing something then you WILL succeed at it because you will enjoy (almost!) every moment you spend working on it. In fact, it may be really important that you choose a course that's sufficiently challenging, in order to keep yourself interested and motivated. I don't know if self-doubt would be an issue for you but it's something that's very common with young people and with women of all ages, and it's very unfair that sometimes people honestly believe they "cannot" do something simply because they were let down by the education system when they were younger.

When I was about 7 my teacher told my parents that I was failing to understand maths, because I was, so my parents moved me to another school with a better (i.e. a patient and persistant) teacher and I ended up getting an A my maths GCSE exam and finding it ridiculously easy! Not that GCSEs matter one bit in real life, obviously, but it goes to show how the real reason why someone "can't do" something is usually either A) they're not interested in it, which is fair enough, or B) they were just never taught properly.

So look for a good college with high-rated teachers, especially if you'll be paying for your course! Do not accept substandard teaching and make all your tutors work hard to help you learn. The good ones will be absolutely delighted to do so. :)

Glad to hear you have made a commitment and started the course Kylie, next step is sticking to it. It's very easy to give up when the going gets tough, or be tempted when bookings clash but also very important to keep the two parts of your life separate too.

Couldn't agree more with Emily regards time. I've tried to study during gaps in my day, or in the morning/afternoon when I have clients booked for other sections of the day and it's very, very difficult. Even just sitting with the phone answering calls and texts so am seriously thinking of setting aside a definite study day each week. I have actually previous studied through the night which solved the phone thing, but didn't solve the requirement for sleep at some point!

what ever works for you really there is a lot of homework with college so be aware of this and be strict when you work or it will all get a bit too much.. I did a btec quite a few years back and boy was there a lot of assignments... I did think about learning something new recently but when i saw the rate of pay at the end of it it somehow put me off. Looking at jobs recently really is disheartening..but very good luck to you if your young its always good to have a career and job choice.

I think advancing yourself with further education whether it be with Open University, College or University is a fantastic thing.  It is always good to push the brain cells that bit further.

It is amazing what we can do when we set our minds to it and if you get a qualification at the end of it that can take you into a well paid job  then that is fantastic.  It doesnt need to be rocket science ... just something that you are happy with.  After all prossying isnt exactly a vocation that is going to last forever.  Everyone needs something they can turn to when they finish escorting.

Me?  Im looking forward to my OAP  ::) ROFL and that is no joke.   I have worked at many different types of jobs over my many many years of working and it is all thanks to the qualifications I got over the years that I studied whilst I was working at other jobs.  So its never too late to learn.

All the best for those that are already studying and good luck if you are thinking of doing something.  Like I said .... its never too late.
Beauty is nothing to do with having a pretty face.
It is about having a pretty mind, a pretty heart,
And most importantly a beautiful soul.

I know what you mean about it being to much for your head. I'm going to be starting a Step Up to Higher Education course in January. It's only two days a week but left high school when I was 14 without any qualifications because I have problems being in a big group of people. I didn't do well as the weird nerdy kid.

You've got to find the coping strategies that work for you. Put a strict line between your work time and your study time and make sure to budget in time just for homework and private study. It often helps to have a place just for study, like a desk in a spare room or going to a cafe or library.

The Step Up course probably won't be that bad, if I'm honest. I'm just going to take those two days off and use the evenings for studying and taking advantage of the library. The real problem is the next stage, undergraduate studying.

The problems with undergraduate study is the time involved. I want to do a BA in Creative Writing and even if you do a BA full time it takes three or four years. If I want to do it while working it's probably going to be part time so it'll take even longer.

You've got to ask yourself if it's worth it, and most of the time it is.
