try not to clean your teeth right before or after.
Use mouthwash if you feel the need.
If you have bleeding gums or anything like that (you don't have to have wretched teeth for bleeding gums) you might not want to go cleaning them right before or afterwards causing them to bleed.
I know the risk is super tiny, really tiny, really, really tiny! Ha! But go for mouthwash, it's better to gargle that around your mouth anyhow, totally clears up any aftertaste, get a nice tasting one, Listerine tastes fab - I keep a bottle in my car and am often to be found on the way home swigging from it copiously and I even swallow that too! Ha!
I asked my dentist when I had my last checkup, was it ok to actually swallow the stuff - oh, the mouthwash that is! And he said as long as your not downing pints of the stuff, you should be okay!
I can't tell the difference between smokers and non smokers. I don't mind the whole swallowing thing at all though, I kind of quite like it.
