A cop filled out my booking form with his personal information that I can trace. Gave personal ID and everything. He tried to claim he was between jobs but after I asked him if he's a cop, he admitted it and said he works highway patrol. He was like "I am doing this for myself it's not part of undercover or anything". I think since he works for the state, he can technically arrest me even if he works in a different county.

How do you decide if you're going to see a cop as a client or not? And if he's undercover, why would cops be targetting me? I am an independent escort in a liberal state.

My gut says he's genuine and just wants a session but what can I do to protect myself in case of an arrest or to not be incriminated? We haven't mentioned anything sexual over text, and there's no record of me asking him if he's a cop (unless he recorded our phone conversation but I live in a state where one-sided recording can be thrown out in court).

The vast majority of posters here are in the UK (where prostitution is legal so we don't have this worry) and have little or no experience of working in the US, so whilst we can try to help you may not get the best advice here.

Personally I'd trust my gut and see him, but it really depends on how catastrophic it would be for you if it is some kind of setup? You can mitigate the chances of this by avoiding saying anything that could be interpreted at 'Pay me $X and I'll have sex with you' (which you're already doing) and if he doesn't play ball on arrival you can ask him to leave. I'd also go for an outcall if you offer them, or hotel incall if you normally work from your own place.

if its a setup, it doesn't matter if its her place, hotel incall or outcall. they can arrest her anywhere easily. im not from the us but im here now. i haven't had any cops book me but one of my first US bookings was from someone who works as a prison officer. he provided social media + ID as screening. i wouldn't have found out he works in prison if it wasn't because i hired an assistant at that time to screen him thoroughly. she told me not to see him because he works as a prison officer and i didn't see him. i dont know if i did the right thing by not seeing him but i followed her advice because i was a newbie in the US. He probably was no harm but i dont know, considering prison is part of law enforcement, i thinks if someone from that line of work was to hire me now,i probably wouldn't see them.

Yes, I know that. But if I was going to see anyone who might use their job as potential leverage for blackmailing me or getting up to other mischief in the future, I'd rather they didn't know where I live.

It’s not worth the risk for one booking if you could get arrested, there’s absolutely no way I’d take that booking if I were in those circumstances

I heard in the past from a friend who toured the US that you can ask a potential new client in person at the time they arrive if they are a police officer etc and they cannot lie and then pursue you legally if they have lied. (Not sure if this is correct)

But on the basis that through screening you have seen he has worked in that industry. The ‘between jobs part’ and just how tricky it can be with the laws in the US compared to the UK I’d screen him out of any booking for peace of mind.

Incorrect, the same applies to people getting arrested for other crimes. If this was the case no drug dealer/counterfeit/scammers etc.. would ever get arrested by undercover cops because all they would need to do is ask if "he's a cop".

Urban myth at it's best.
