Some posts saying if touring in a hotel best be very careful and don't want to be suspected by the staffs? If escorting is fine why should they worry?
If they know you're working there, then it is very likely that someone else is... and that runs the hotel into considering the brothel laws.
Then there are the reputation issues - would you want your hotel to be known as 'the one with the whores'? Lots of people, including many clients, would be put off from staying there. Yes, there are some places that clearly don't mind, but it's a risk not everyone is prepared to take.
And some posts saying worry about neighbours noticing.. again if you are working alone.. why bother??
If they don't approve - and many will not, for a variety of reasons - they can make your life very difficult. Would your clients mind being photographed as they approach the door, for example? It's happened.
Wherever you are working, don't annoy the neighbours. Especially if your tenancy agreement has a 'morals' or a 'no business' clause or, more usually, both.
