Finding a non-dodgy agency in US [was: 'scam or real? hmm']
« on: 15 October 2013, 10:08:43 pm »
If you've read any of my past posts, you'd know I was looking into getting an agency. First let me explain that in my town, if you don't have an agency then you don't get clients. Simple as that.  An even bigger factor is that im in the States which makes it illegal.

I originally looked into an agency located 6hrs away from me. Ended up being too sketchy and i never made the trip (lost a lot of $$ in flights though)  :FF

ANYWAY, i found a new agency located 1 hr away from me which i feel is the PERFECT distance. They are based in Las Vegas, where this is 100% legal. (Doesnt make it legal in my state, but still) They have 4 agencies in a few different states. I found their listing on backpage and applied. An agent called and asked for more photos, etc. and 3 days later I was signed on. We spoke on the phone and he explained the process:

I'd be working the 6pm-2am shift a few nights a week. I will drive to their city and book a hotel room for myself on the nights i work. (This was my decision, this way I can rest in between appointments and shower before class the next day) I will be doing outcall only. He says a booker will be getting in touch. She will notify me 1hr in advance for each of my appointments and text me the address. Then i show up (with security) and have the appointment. We split 60/40 so i take the agency's 40% and get a moneypak with it at the end of each appointment, which i send to the agency.

I think everything sounds spanking fantastic BUT my only concern is that I can't find anything about the agency online. I google searched them and got nothing. I also googled their phone number and names but STILL nothing. Idk if thats a good or bad sign. I just need some physical proof that this isnt a sting op, right? the fact that they are based in Las Vegas comforts me (the number they called me from checked out to be from nevada) but still.......Im scheduled to start on friday.

Thoughts?

My first thought is that prostitution is categorically not legal in Las Vegas, and I would wonder why somebody would tell you that? Las Vegas is in Clark, which is among the vast majority of Nevada counties in which prostitution is outlawed and the few legal brothels there are in Nevada are in remote areas, not big cities.

Ask yourself why a popular, well run, busy agency's only internet presence would be on Backpage and I suspect you'll have your answer.

I would say that if YOU can't find them, then neither will the clients.

More experienced ladies will be able to advise more than me, though.

I would be surprised if there were no independent escorts where you are.

Prostitution isn't legal in Las Vegas, though obviously there are plenty of people working there. (Male joke: how do you know the woman talking to you in a Las Vegas bar is a prostitute? She's talking to you...) But if you can't find them apart from their 'escorts wanted' ad, how is any client to do so? Ask, and don't believe any 'we have an exclusive list..' stuff.
'The Ian formerly known as SW5'. What they said: "Indispensable", "You are our best resource", and (hours later!) "I'm afraid that you're being made redundant..."

His response: No, we are a referral agency.
