Feeling stressed - all clients are canceling

Ok, I think this is my fault somehow from simply not knowing how to do this??? although I have customer service and marketing background...

But I had a few bookings and they are starting to fall off. Everything seemed fine, no red flags, followed my rules etc, but I got two cancelations this morning and I a freaking out because I need to make some cash :( I know this biz is up and down, I am just looking for reassurance that it will all plan out at the end.

And that maybe I should ask for deposits from now?

I think it is like this for many businesses, even the girl who does my eyelashes shares the amount of money she loses due to cancellations (thousands).

I assume someone is going to no show or cancel out of my prebookings so I dont get to excited before I see the cash. These guys think we do nothing all day, waiting for clients so they think they can waste our time and just general disrespect to us and the work we do. Or they have been messed around themselves due to unprofessional WGs.  ???

You could have a rule for deposits for pre-bookings; you'll still get some cancellations but at least you would have gotten something out of it.Are you new to the business? Sometimes new escorts get this stuff more but once you've been in one area for a while the TWs/cancels start to happen less. I used to panic when I'd get a slow period and think 'is this it now? is it drying up??' and then suddenly it turns around and work picks up again, without fail  :)

I mean they all apologised and had solid reasons and said they will reschedule but my trust is gone.
I am thinking that if the booking doesn’t happen today then it’s like “ too long and not worth it”

Anyway I will have to trust the divine timing of everything

Are you taking deposits? Has that worked for you?
Also, is deposits a new thing in the community?

I tried asking a few clients and they seemed wary of this in general. Like I am an alien and they never heard of a word “deposit”

There's a thread about deposits, when I first started asking (10 years ago) it was new clients who suggested it. Yes many won't, but many will. Deposits aren't new but were rare, however with the increase in remote payment options combined with punter/client unreliability there seems to be an increase in escorts deciding to start asking for deposits.

Regards reasons anyone can say anything, however there are clients who never or very rarely cancel, they plan carefully, and if an issue arises they fix it.

thank you so much for your input! I have read on deposits but the info seemed old, and as things always change and progress so fast, I wasn't sure how up to date that was.
Thank you for sharing this, it's definitely reassuring me. I have a bank account that's not linked to anything but my real name, would you recommend I share those details for the deposit?
I also have SumUp reader... haven't used it in years but I think you can share a payment link on there to make a remote payment. Not sure

Could be the time of year, people are skint, I had loads cancel this weekend because of the snow! You’ll find sometimes you can be proper busy and then others it’ll be dead, sometimes for no apparent reason x

I offered a reschedule because of the snow and mixed conditions, main roads are clear but can depend where exactly a person is and my location too. He was happy to travel but I wanted to know what I was doing with my day - make use of the time in other ways rather than 'check-in' and wonder. This comes after hanging-on, being understanding quite a few times in the last three months. I would rather plan my day than build myself up for nothing, might be worth knowing it was a BDSM style booking which requires preparation and getting into mindset even if just for some tie and tease.

Also had some cancel or not be able to commit because of relatives changing plans, did cause an issue because for one outcall I had arranged things to be done whilst I was out, but I managed to work from home around it.

On the other hand plenty of clients did make it, totally determined and or didn't have far to travel.

Right! I even had in my dream that the rest of my booking rescheduled also.

But I think being nervous is going to just bring in more of the same.
I decided that I will use that time to work on projects that I have put aside… like painting, music, selling some old belongings, I need to update my kindle account and small bits like that.

And then it will all come through
