.....Oh you mean for work, no one seems
to be sweating buckets, it's just nicer.
I open the window an inch.

Send some heat my way, will you? We have the coldest summer in... 20 years? It's like 14 degrees on a good day. ><

I wondered when this year's thread would start ;D.

I've had a good day in my nice cool flat then walked home along the beach and had an ice cream, although I wound up with loads of towels to wash as everybody wants a shower. Tomorrow I'm off to London and an airconditioned hotel room for the rest of the week with somebody else doing the laundry, so I'm happy with it :D.

If an airconditioning unit I'd spend hundreds on wasn't working, I'd take it back. Make sure you have the doors and windows shut when it's on though.

It may seem counter-intuitive, but I follow the Mediterranean method and keep windows and doors shut between about 9am and 7pm, so you let the cooler air at night and keep the warmer air out during the day.

The highest/top floor (if you're not in a flat) especially keep the windows wide open overnight if it's feasible security wise.

I also have a big floor-standing fan.

In bookings if you can't get a decent cross breeze then an oscillating fan helps... and then bring ice cubes into play. Use ice cubes in your mouth for oral, for example, or just run the cube across their bodies. And drink it. With the fan blowing on you it will help you stay cool.

"Where's all the frozen food gone..."

"Oh that, yea, i'm not surviving this heatwave sex without an army of ice cubes"

I can hear the conversation with my room mate now   :D

Dyson hot + cold fans are very versatile, expensive but quiet and useful for a heat boost during cold weather when waiting for heating to kick in.

I managed to go out and score a small bucket and the last two bags of ice at Sainsburys. Even though I've got AC here I think having some ice will be nice.

A damp bedsheet over a fan works like a budget AC unit.

For quick (but short) relief run your wrists (palms up) under cold running tap. It's something to do with pulse points...

Yes, or wash your hair and leave it, so the back of your neck gets cold.

After my 'normal' shower, if the heat gets to me I just sit in a tepid bath, and leave the water - it's good for one or two more dips! I have just before bed, don't dry myself, and lie on top of the covers with the fan on me - bliss.

Move to Scotland ....  You won't have that problem rofl!

Oh dunno about that Lady_Lust lol, last july was pretty bloody hot, and the beginning of the week was horrendous!!
For me anyway, I hate the heat, and I hate sweaty smelly clients. It doesn't matter if I make them have a shower,
after 5 minutes in the bedroom they're reeking of B.O again  >:(
I must admit it never lasts long enough or is quite as bad up here as it is down south, defo not enough heat to
invest in airconditioning lol, a fan at the very most  ;)
I don't have to be perfect, but I'm perfect at being me!

I keep getting asked to wear latex! I have a latex bra and knickers which I choose over the dresses or catsuits in this heat x

Not sure on the linking rules but google "DIY air conditioner." Costs about ?25 to make. I havn't tried it yet but looks simple (the thrifty couple) is the blog i found it on

Basically just a styrofoam cooler with holes cut out for pvc pipes and a mini fan with frozen water bottles inside. I'm crap at crafts and this does actually look really simple i made it sound complicated trying to explain it lol. It just kind of blows the cool air from the frozen water bottles you put inside. Imma try it.  :-*
