United States: The guy had (visible) guns in his house ...
« on: 03 September 2023, 08:03:12 pm »
I'm in the US, where guns are everywhere, which I know, but still!

During my first (!) outcall, I realized that the guy had guns (plural) in his house. One of them wasn't in a case. He said it was unloaded and that the ammo wasn't nearby. Oh.

I hate guns, and the whole thing made me really uncomfortable. I didn't actually feel scared, just uncomfortable. In retrospect, I probably should have left. I ended up just going into denial mode.

The whole thing turned out fine. The guy was nice and all—just someone who happened to have guns. If they hadn't been visible, I wouldn't even have wondered about it.

I really don't want to start a debate about guns here. But is this something that other people worry about? Obviously this is a US-based problem. What would you have done?

I hope it's okay to post this on on a UK board. Thanks!

I've walked from outcalls because of dirty bedlinen, unrestrained pets, black mould in the bathroom and the punter smelling of alcohol, so yes - a gun would have me exiting the place very quickly.

I know the US has a very different approach to gun ownership than the UK, and that significantly more US citizens own them for reasons other than the odd spot of clay pigeon shooting or worse.
However, I would not have felt safe staying alone in a house with a man who felt the need to have his (hopefully, fingers crossed) unloaded guns out on show when a lone female was visiting. And I mean the weapons type, not the gym toned variety. It speaks volumes about his macho mindset.
I'm very relieved to hear the whole outcall went ok and that he turned out to be fine after all and you are safe.

I once had a conservative Sikh guy book me & he arrived with one of those ceremonial (but very large & very real!) knives. He wanted it near us on the bed, I think because he was attached emotionally to it or something, & I told him he had to leave it in another room, which he reluctantly agreed to. I know it was important to him but I was astounded by how insensitive he was to my vulnerability as a sex worker, given our history of violent victimisation (particularly with knives). I should’ve just told him to leave, neither of us enjoyed the ensuing hour, it was really uncomfortable. I should say I have had a lot of Sikh clients & never experienced this before or since.

I have a thing about knives I have had something happen a long time ago before sex work, then robbed at [large] knife point by someone who had had a previous booking with me (but changed name and number to do the robbery).

So when a punter pulled one out from under his bed looking for something (there was a plate with remains of a meal under there too!), my heart started beating even faster. Recently someone decided to show me his legal knife that isn't a lock knife 'to reassure me', if he hadn't taken it from the high chest of drawers I would not have known it was even there. He was under the influence highly incongruent for someone terrified I was a scammer, robber, or that my OH (was the punter who asked do I have a partner) would find out what I was doing and turn up with a baseball bat. BTW my partner is not a bouncery type he simply would phone the police if I disappeared or indicated any problems. I had wondered why he wasn't getting close initially, most want to kiss me fairly quickly. He went off to get some mouthwash telling me "I have just had 6 beers", seems this was better than the 12 he had had on a disastrous booking with another Escort.

The knife was shown after pillow talk during which he poured his heart out to me.

Sigh. So many think I am being boring when I ask for punters to not have a drink beforehand, couple of long term regulars really do only have a nip but it's situations like this that I am trying to avoid.
