At ?300 I'd expect asda freezer. I need to take it off my profile, hell, I'm going to send it back. Do i need to fork out in the ?600 range then?

hey Ieaio, has the AC unit got a plug for water or has the unit been serviced, Vents cleans etc?
?300 for an AC unit which doesn't work sound very expensive you should go give it back and tell them its not working.

How does everybody manage to work with this heat and humidity this week?

I got soaked yesterday and was barely moving I had to keep wiping with kitchen roll.  I do not cope well with humidity.

Also my make up gets streaked if I do in the bathroom at present so I am having to put on downstairs!

The bathroom gets hot and sticky.

On top of that my neighbour is in and out like a flippin' yoyo sorting out their drive that they are upgrading.  He is doing the job himself and he is a highly observant type so I have had to only see one a day or cancel people.

I just wish he would sort out the drive this has been going on for about 3 weeks .....!

Just having a rant and a moan lol.

Funny I nearly put up a similar thread.  I'm terrible in the heat (very fair skinned). I'm used to living near the sea, both cooler & with a breeze but currently inland in a tiny maisonette so struggling with it.

If your bedroom/workroom faces the sun most of the day and you cannot get a thro breeze with windows open in there and another room accross the way, the best thing to do is close the window, all you are doing is bringing warmer air in.  Close the blinds/curtains (the continental way).

Invest in a good quality fan.  The saving grace of this place is it has a large free standing fan which does actually create coolness (unlike the smaller ones which just push around warm air) and use in the bedroom/workroom.

Consider not wearing make up.  I cannot wear it much anyway as I get a skin reaction.

Make sure to drink lots of fluids (way more than normal).

Can't help with the neighbour I'm araid!

Could you go and start a 'friendly' conversation about the drive and how the job's going?

I sympathise with everybody suffering - my flat doesn't get hot, but I did an outcall to a top floor one a couple of weeks ago and I felt ill by the time I left. I had trouble getting dressed because my clothes were sticking to me and I thank God I went in civvies and not stockings and suchlike.

I have tried the sympathetic neighbourly chat Amy but the poor bugger has numerous health issues as does his wife and it is probably all they can do to stagger it out over weeks to get it actually done.....!

My main tip is to keep all windows and doors closed during the day, as well as curtains/blinds on south/west facing walls, and then open them all at night. Make an exception for one window as high up (if you're in a place with more than one level) as possible to allow hot air to escape.

Have frequent tepid/lukewarm showers or baths.

Stay well hydrated with plain water.

A fan can help.

I don't like the heat and the sun doesn't agree with my skin either, I got one of those dyson coolers last year, bit pricy but excellent, I take it to work with me.

I had an outcall in a hotel in this heat. I had my hair extension in (my little animal). I was sweating so much, my own hair went frizzy and curly and the extension stayed straight. You can imagine what a twat I looked like by the end.
