Most of the people here are in the UK, where prostitution is legal. As you are talking about $100, I am guessing that you are in the US, where it isn't. (And if you go to where the client is, they are paying for the venue, no matter where you are.)

You need to think about where and how to advertise - including never saying anything that a court could interpret as 'I will have sex with you if you pay me' - plus having a screening procedure, so that you can be reasonably sure that the person you are seeing isn't going to arrest you. This latter, except aimed at other threats is what's being called 'security procedures'.

I think it's a bit extreme to be afraid of clients so much you need to keep a weapon around. Maybe in America things are different but here not really an issue. Most of my clients are nice enough people from all walks of life who decided they want my company. Been doing this a little while now and no client has ever tried to hurt me. Had a couple of arguments but nothing that wasn't sorted by them knowing I won't be bullied.

I have taken self defence classes though it wasn't related to this line of work it was before but I feel confidence enough I could do something to defend myself and get away if I had to and my boyfriend and a friend who is also an escort both know where I am any time I do an outcall and how long I'll be so I have people who can call the police in an emergency with the location. I'll often send them a text and they reply that they got it just so they know I arrived and them replying lets the client know that people may be aware of where I am. They don't know who that is for all they know I have a driver waiting so I think it helps if they think they can try something.

There are a bunch of security measures you can take I don't know if weapons are needed though. But yeah I've never been afraid doing this job.
