It depends where you live. In London social services are worked off their feet. They likely wouldn't bother. In a rural Scottish village where they have nothing better to do then that may be a different matter.
I'm glad I got all the Cynthia Payne books before the prices rocked to sky high.

Do you have access to a sex worker project? They may be able to offer you advice/support on the best way to go about this.

Talking from experience social services did have a problem with escorting where I was concerned.

I never did it where my children were present yet when my ex flagged me to them, being a young mother who was prostituting herself, it quickly became something they relied heavily on in their mitigation to have my children adopted.

My children were never at risk nor in harms way in relation to my work because I never worked at home and they had no idea what I did, but this alongside domestic violence (which they were already involved for but wasn't seeking to remove my children because of) culminated in my little ones being adopted and the judge overseeing my case ruled that given my line of work my life was unruly and in effect made me an incompetent parent. It sounds bad and unjustified  because it was, I genuinely believe I was a miscarriage of justice but that's another story.

I can completely see why you don't want them involved and if you have to then, deny deny deny. I don't know what area you are from and granted social work departments differ massively from town to county but as soon as I read this and saw ladies saying that social services would be ok with what you do I just had to put this out there that prostitution can be and is a red flag to some social work departments.

Is there any way you can ensure he "loses" whatever evidence he has of you doing this?
If so then once you're sure he can't "show" social services anything, then report him to the police.

What an ass he sounds. He should pay his own bills, the freeloading twat.

I'm sorry he's doing this to you xx

I am with mg deny deny deny, most ss would not be concerned as long as your children were not in danger and you were an attentive parent. But you just never know.

Try and find out whether there is someone at the police who is not a judgemental plod and go in and discuss the matter with them.

Has your ex been reported four domestic violence as this could go a long way in your favour?

As for him ignore him and stand up to him, being a dv victim myself I know the angst you must be going through but I learnt years as go that he only has as much power ad you allow him to have.

I agree with mysterious girl,   I know a few people who have had social services involved and they're not the nice helpful people they're portrayed as, in fact a lot of social workers are the type of feminists that are absolutely against prostitution, and will use anything they can if they decide to take any action (as someone else said it does depend on what area you're in) If anyone has ever dealt with the criminal justice system and found it to be a farce, the family court system are a LOT worse as they're held in secret and nothing has to be proven at all. Regarding the domestic violence, if there is any I would also play that down as even that can be used against mothers, under the guise of 'child protection. they can say the children are also at risk of witnessing violence. As mysterious girl says, deny deny deny, don't give them anything to use against you.

I have another view on SS. I had involvement with them due to a long term mental health diagnosis and they never felt my job was an issue at all.

Like everything else though, a lot depends on who you end up actually dealing with, and it's best to err on the safe side.

I have a social worker friend who is very liberal and open minded, and has seen and heard pretty much everything. But her senior manager who came from a different county is very hostile to prostitution, and guess who wins when things get marginal.

If face not showing you can deny. You could even claim he took the photos when you were together and that it was him who made the adverts.

Please go to the police -

this guy is playing on your insecurities - trying to get what he wants buy exploiting any ignorance. Dont tell him go to the police and tell them what is happening - they really take a dim view on the likes of this - and also if he is like this then there may be other issues with this guy that you do not know about. You are doing nothing wrong and as long as you can demonstrate that your children are being cared for properly and in a secure environment then you have nothing to worry about. sex work isnt illegal.

This is rubbish, we all know that its legal, that's not the point.  A young woman has bravely posted to warn others about how her children were taken from her for no other reason than domestic violence and because of her occupation. Her children were cared for properly in a secure environment, they came to no harm.

Are you aware that social services departments have 'targets' for forced adoptions each year? Do you know how many take place via secrecy in the family court? And that they try and get it all 'done and dusted' within 6 to 12 months?  Its scandalous and young female sex workers are often amongst the most vulnerable people that they pick on. A lot of these social workers and/or their managers have their own agenda ie; Their own personal views and government opinions against prostitution and are often on 'power trips'  to control other peoples lives via their children.

My advice to the OP regarding her situation, I would see a solicitor about getting an injunction order on your ex, tell them he's harassing you. Deny anything he says and appear to be whiter than white and then if SS did get involved you've nothing to worry about.

This demonisation of SS is not only unhelpful and untrue but amounts to scaremongering. In the interests of balance I worked for SS and no mention is ever made of the majority of SWs who care genuinely about their clients. Usually no mention of Health Workers/doctors/nurses working with children failing them, always the SWs.

Sadly in public life this can often be the case, but its still an over generalisation.

I agree with this unless there is blatant evidence, and would like to wish the OP all the best.

I agree with this post from experience they SS already have tried to blame and pin DV on me as to blame I would think they woul veiw my career choice as similar I was off the rails or such.

Just an update he has cooled down and seems to be concerned over my n kids safety I havn't admitted anything to him as i won't. He shouldn't been following me and snooping. I can put up with the snide remarks for now as I can't risk another round or police/Sw/solicitors
