You were determined not to give him the whole lot. If you chose to go in to extended chat that was up to you. You cancelled on him and should have paid the whole lot back.
I'm glad I got all the Cynthia Payne books before the prices rocked to sky high.

I agree it was the OP's choice and should have been dealt with then, or accepted.

Yup, I agree. But at least op is justifying it in her own mind because after all chances are despite paying the deposit he wouldn't have shown.  :-\

Based on what?

Until he no shows she's no right to keep the deposit - unless she stipulated that in the terms.

I was being sarcastic about the reasoning for keeping some of the deposit. Forgot to add about the ping pong comms, which op is going to have to work on shutting down because we all know if we allow punters to do this, they will.

Next time this same guy tried to book somebody else and they ask for deposit his answer will be “No, I’ve been stung before.”

OP. You still have time to send the guy the tenner you have stolen and apologies that you were wrong.

Yeah,
OP the minute you cancelled you should have refunded the whole deposit.
This could be classed as theft. No wonder some punters have bad opinions of WGs when girls do things like this!

Christ Almighty, give it a rest - I agree from what I've read of the thread that any deposit should be refunded in full but the weapons grade level of pious sanctimony here is making me struggle to keep my lunch down and we're not going to have a witch hunt.

Since I doubt the OP wants to come back and comment now (and if I were her any comment I would make in response to the above would need to be removed anyway), locked. Anybody who was hoping to join in the pile on will just have to spend the afternoon polishing their halo instead.
