Sorry a question on moonfruit & directories
« on: 22 June 2010, 10:18:11 pm »
Hi,

Sorry to keep harping on but I don't want to pay for moonfruit & then be stuck.

I have saw on a past post on this site that some directories will not allow moonfruit websites on there directories,
is this true??? Now I did have a look at some directories I plan to use, to see if I could see any mf sites, & I didn't! But is it only the free mf sites/domain names they have a prob with? Because if I have my own domain name that doesn't have mf in it, & have on mf logos on my website how would they ever know?

Please help :)

Hi,

I obviously can't tell you what the listing criteria applied for entry to each and every directory would be.

However, as I have had to set up some  moonfruit derived sites for a number of ladies, I have found from experience that most directories are more than happy to list your site if the domain name does not have any reference to moonfruit and if you are able to provide a return link to their sites. So, for example, something along the lines of escortharlow.com is going to be much less of a problem than submitting something which appears as escortharlow.moonfruit.com

Among the better known places which have not expressed any problems with this method are Punterlink and Belles, and you will not have a problem getting a listing on the SPDB of PunterNet either. Once you list on them, you'll find other directories start actively mithering you for a listing as well, so it is not as if they are too stressed about moonfruit either.
