Agency asking for photo ID?
« on: 22 April 2016, 08:59:18 pm »
Hi ladies

I've just joined an agency in London, I've had a face to face interview & 1 job already,
But now they're refusing to let me work until I send over photo ID & proof of my address.
The owner says its a legal requirement, but I just wanted to know if anyone else has had to
Do this or if anyone has any advice?

I personally don't want to do it, as I don't see why they need to have it.

Lmao it's a legal requirement is it?When he is breaking the law by running an agency?!?He is talking absolute shite! It is not the norm for agencies to require proof of address or photo id and it certainly isn't a legal requirement.I'd move on from this agency.

I've worked for a very good agency for a few years, and in my very first interview they asked to show photo ID. But that's about it what they asked from me. As they didn't like girls lying about their age. Also I was young and looked even younger. :)

He/she wants to know where to find you if you run off with their cut.

It's not a requirement. Run for the hills and go indie if you can, if you can't then find another agency.

And remind them you are employing them and not vice versa 😡
Beauty is nothing to do with having a pretty face.
It is about having a pretty mind, a pretty heart,
And most importantly a beautiful soul.

In every London agency I have worked at they have wanted your address and pass port . The reason is in case you run off with there money . I went for a interview once where I had to fill out a huge form and they wanted your next of kins details I said why do you want this there response was in case any thing happens to you . I said to the receptionist more like you can have it as a hold over girls . Now days I wouldn't give my address details out but when I was younger I did .

So if you run off with the money what would they be planning to do about it? Call the police? I don't
think so.

They don't have a legal leg to stand on since what they are doing is pimping and if you work at their accommodation with several girls it's a brothel. You need to remember these are illegal and running through loopholes so you don't really have any protection from them and they are likely to be run by dodgy people. Nobody should be in a position where they can send people over to where you live and have all your personal details to control you.

I'm going to imagine it involves very large men tracking you down and getting the money back.

I can understand that they may want to briefly see your passport at a meeting to check you are over 18 if you look young.

I can see why they would too, since pimping out minors is likely to be viewed by the law and most other people as 'worse' than pimping out grown women.

If this is the case then they'll be fine with you covering everything up with tape bar your photograph and date of birth, since proof of age is all they're asking for. If they're not, then there's your answer :).
