Good that your first concern is safety, but I do think you underestimate how being ripped off when providing a sexual service could affect you.

I too hope it works out for you.

You are shagging the punter who pays ?190 for the privilege of your luscious body and then you are supposed to turn around and give ?90 of that to a pimp?  Have we working girls regressed this far?  :FF  This is bad economics Roxy Chu and this agency is a rip off!  Even a Hollywood manager only takes 20% out of a megastar's earnings! ;D  Wow - I'd tell these suckers to go whistle up Liberace's ass!

With regard to the uniform, the idea is not that bad in itself but where they fail is by telling you exactly what to wear i.e. pencil skirts etc etc.  They should have just given you general guidelines of appropriate attire, rather than trying to stipulate an item of clothing.

Hang on, they're not taking ?90 out of the ?190 the client pays then charging you ?22 for transport on top, are they? WTF if so.

Whatever the answer, they may not be 'You'll have to shag me for free before I can let you work for me, my pretty' Evil, but a useless agency is an evil one. And that's before the lies this one is telling.

Stoke has a significant parlour / brothel scene. The cuts are more or less what you've paid this bunch, but without most of the crap.

'The Ian formerly known as SW5'. What they said: "Indispensable", "You are our best resource", and (hours later!) "I'm afraid that you're being made redundant..."

Roxy, the quickest way for you to see how all other escorts do things is just to start browsing Adultwork and Punternet and other directories (as per the advertising article on the main site, http://www.saafe.info) to look at their websites and profiles. For all of us to write here our marketing methods in entirety, even summarised, would take pages and pages and hours and hours. We all have to do our own research before leaping into being an independent escort - that's part of being independent. :) Arming yourself with not just knowledge but the ability to gain the knowledge that you may need in future is essential.

Luckily, it's not rocket science. Read punter reviews to find out what clients like and don't like in escorts (and agencies and websites and parlours and directories - they make all sorts of off-hand comments in reviews that are gold dust when it comes to understanding 'the punter psyche'). They are not a homogenous group, of course, by any means! But you'll begin to get a good overview of what is more popular vs. less popular in general, and via your own experimentation with marketing and working methods you'll learn what really works for you.

Glad to hear the agency aren't evil. Although one could certainly make the argument that being useless when sending random men to meet newbie escorts = worse than useless, as it's downright dangerous and is therefore somewhat evil. But everyone knows my opinion on that sort of thing already. ;)

(It's pretty dangerous for them to tell clients you're "Libby" and then leave YOU to inform each bloke that he's been lied to and, basically, scammed/ripped off - not because you aren't offering the services, but only because you aren't the girl in the pictures. You'll see from Punternet reviews that clients very much dislike being deceived in this way and if the agency sends the wrong sort of guy to you, who knows how he could react? With violence? Not overly likely, but also not unlikely - see the Warnings area of this forum for examples of how violence is unfortunately still an issue to take very seriously as an escort.)

You don't need a fancy website to go indie. Get an Adultwork profile (and a safety buddy!!) up with some candid snaps - again, you can browse AW extensively to get an idea of which profiles are popular and what seems to work and what seems not to work. That'll be much quicker than all of us here trying to explain things which depend on a thousand factors.

Re the "uniform" for every guy that like the "sexy secretary/office" look there's a guy that doesn't!

When I worked for an agency they tried to tell me what to where and I asked some of the clients, who said they prefer jeans and a t- shirt! If they're worried about looking suspicious the only thing that's going to make people look at you and go "hooker!" is if you're in fishnets and a red lame mini dress with stripper heels! Also, so many escorts/agencies use the pencil skirt/fitted dress thing as a uniform now you can spot them a mile off in any hotel so personally I think it's almost as conspicuous as the afore mention red lame mini dress!

All girls are different and their clothes should reflect that (to a degree, it is work after all) as soon as you introduce a "uniform" you stick out and draw attention, I would only wear pencil skirt/fitted dress if requested by a client.

As for the money hungry pimpess trying to scare you into submission with threats of legal action...what a total idiot! Watch out for her though, that's just the first sign of controlling non friendly behaviour. In my experience 'madames' only get worse - remember they are only in it for the money and you are just a way of getting it while they sit on their arses and pretend they're doing you a massive favour.
