Erotic massage
« on: 08 April 2011, 04:37:51 pm »
Hi ladies, I'm a newby and I'm looking a few different avenues in the industry. Basically I need to pay some bills and I'm pretty open minded but I don't necessarily want to go into full blown escorting yet, just ease myself in, lol.   I was wondering, has anyone tried erotic massage either on your own or with comapnies like Links or Pearl London?  What's the real deal here, do you have sex/ give handjobs or what?

thank you all
Naomi

Typically, 'erotic massage' = hand job at least.

At those prices, I wonder how much business Pearl gets, but it looks like nicely presented hand jobs / prostate massage...

- Boundaries (as with all sex work). I'd reccommend firstly deciding what you will and won't offer before your first appointments, as some guys can be pushy (especially if they see a newbie) and if you don't have clear boundaries you may find yourself getting talked into stuff as you hadn't thought about what you will and won't do first. That's what happened to me, but maybe I'm talking rubbish and the only way to find out your real boundaries is to try it out  ???

No, I think you're right about setting your boundaries first. You might decide later that certain things sound ok after all, but it's going to be nicer doing it that way then finding through experience what makes you feel icky.

Thank you for your help,

Loulou that's some really great info i wanted to ask, sorry to ask silly questions, I am happy to give handjobs but no real groping because I'm nervous that might open the floodgates for a horny man, BUT will clients find this is enough?  also where do you get your work, is it mainly from AW?  I'm keen to learn but I wonder how much work is out there for this, considering you're only going half way (iyswim).  So do you do escorting as well for the pennies?

As in they don't touch your genitals? Yes, you can do this topless (or more clothed) rather than naked, for example. Some people charge more depending on how much they take off. You can also tie them up and market it as 'tie and tease'.

I wonder how much work is out there for this, considering you're only going half way (iyswim).

Think male :) - for some, as there's no 'real sex' involved, it doesn't count as cheating...

This is coming from someone who does full-service (GFE) escorting, which includes a few massages but usually more, so feel free to take with a pinch of salt :) but I think there are certain important trends in the sex industry right now, particularly areas that are close to each other (erotic massage and escorting aren't that far apart in the grand scheme, compared to starring in porn movies or working in a strip club etc).

For example, this industry has never been the license to print money (phrase shamelessly nicked from Amy ;D) that some inexperienced/naive people might assume, and it is even less so now that the recession has hit and certain prices go madly lower while more and more newbies take up sex work. This all sounds rather depressing but it doesn't mean that a determined, patient, smart person can't still make a good living in the biz - it just means you might need to be a little more determined, patient and smart than you might've had to five or ten years ago.

So I think a good piece of advice for anyone entering the industry - no matter what precise type of work they plan on doing - is to take it slowly. If it's at all possible, retain (or start) a possible second income at least for the initial phase. Any newbie who wants to work independently (there are massage-only parlours, but you'll have to rummage through lots of punter forums and review sites to find 'em) could be looking at 2-4 weeks of annoying phonecalls, pointless emails and creepy timewasters before they get their first booking set up; maybe even longer. This is good because it means you get plenty of time to learn how to listen to your gut and assess potential weirdos and timewasters over the phone and by email - these are all lessons you'll need to learn ASAP - but it's really ideal that you not be facing eviction if you don't earn ?400 by next week, even though that is probably the #1 time that most of us start this job in reality.

Basically, it's a good idea to set up a free profile on Adultwork, and maybe an affordable basic website for Punternet/Punterlink etc, and then spend a few weeks tinkering and tailoring your advertising until you find yourself getting a good number of genuine inquiries. You'll get plenty of practice dealing with annoying wankers that way, too! ;) You'll also have plenty of time to get your security sorted (ideally, you'll have a buddy who works in the same area with similar hours, so you can do security for each other - but the most important thing is to never be alone with a client without someone that you trust knowing where you are and what time you should be finished) as well as sorting out clothing/lingerie, massage table, toys, lube, condoms, whichever sex work equipment is most applicable to the appointments you'll be offering.

So, taking time is good, and basically, the only way to learn the precise answer to, "If I live in x town and do abc advertising and am available y hours and do(n't do) incalls only, how many clients will I get?" is to do some free/cheap experimenting yourself. We all run our businesses in very unique and personal ways so we can hardly ever give detailed advice on what to expect - well, beyond, "Clients and sexual services", anyway!

Hiya

Firstly, both Winks and Pearls are extremely selective about who they take on.  I have also heard mixed reports from other masseuses who have worked with them - some good, some strange.  I work with an agency similar (but likely less busy) to Pearl/Wink/Carezzia and they get me around 1 booking a fortnight.  An agency will take 35-40% of your fee - don't work with anyone who takes 50 or 60%.  They are ripping you off.

Secondly, I get very limited bookings via AW.

Punters discuss masseuses like they do escorts so before you take the plunge, make sure that both your massage and your hand job skills are up to scratch - you only get one chance to launch.

A lot of the basic rules of escorting also apply to erotic massage - the security checks, the grooming and hygiene, the lingerie and outfits, the discretion, the screening of timewasters etc. etc.  You will also need a supply of
- tealights - I use about 4-5 per job
- incense - but be careful with it in hotels as it can set off smoke alarms!
- bath oils and oil bars
- massage oil - I use almond oil, which you can buy in a lot of ethnic mini markets.  Never use baby oil
- stockings
- flannels
- relaxing music
If you plan on using your home for incalls then you will also need a lot of towels and sheets, as well as a massage table  If not, then you can hire a hotel 1 day per week to do your incalls

Unless you're rabidly anti-vaccination or mortally afraid of injections, I would go for Hep B on a 'why not' basis. You might need to keep quiet about just where your boundaries are, but just telling a sexual health clinic you're starting escorting should be enough.

Ladies, if any of you need an extra pair of hands, give me a shout.  I'm starting erotic massage but ideally with a partner for safety and even better if you're experienced so you can teach me a thing or two.

I'd be happy to have an arrangement where we work together when you get requests for a 4 hands massage

xx Nay
