Encouraging shorter bookings
« on: 02 June 2019, 08:29:17 am »
I've had guys I've not met before ask for long bookings but id like to encourage them to take 1 hour instead. If I got on I'd extend the time
What do you say ?

I do that a lot lately. I want to know I can enjoy a longer booking by starting with a shorter one and seeing if the chemistry is right that a longer booking is doable. Some people are lovely and fun, but they would exhaust me for a 2/3 hour meeting. So I politely decline.

I've had a bellyful of these longer bookings.

I find the majority of requests are from guys who 'no show' me and I've lost all patience. I refuse to faff around with deposits so I only take longer bookings through AW or with clients I've seen before.

I got stung last week on tour (thankfully a 9pm so I was happy to clock off) so it's a huge 'NO' from me.

Also, if they enquire about a longer booking and I say no and they then say that an hour will be fine, I treat that with extreme suspicion as well.

Where I will make an exception is when I'm working from home (which is rare)  in a rural community as they are generally older guys and reliable.  I had 2 , three hour bookings with one gent.

But honestly, give me half hours any day.  In and out!

I no longer do bookings of more than 2 hours and will never accept even that duration from someone I have not met.

Given the choice of a handful of half hours in one day or one 3 hour session (even with a man I know) I would go for the former every time! It makes better financial gain for me but that is not so much the issue. Spending time with a man for hours is not my choice now, but I can tolerate a half or one hour with someone if I am thinking in my head not seeing this one again!

I don't do more than 2h with a new client, either.

All I can suggest is make your 30-1h bookings an attractive price, and 2h+ less so.

If  i offer the last booking of the day so if it's a no show its not sabotaged  my client availability through the day .thanks modesty

I'll take them a mix of shorter (1hr minimum) and longer (2hrs+), is what I really enjoy and makes me a successful business.

I would simply state that for new clients you prefer the first booking to be a maximum of X amount.
Explain that once you’ve met once, they are welcome to book longer next time.

I don’t like taking overnight bookings as a first with a new client and will always reply with something like “as we haven’t met before I would prefer to meet for two hours initially to see if we connect... we can go from there”
So just adjust that to suit you :)

Don’t be afraid to set strict boundaries

it is good idea, however i am taking 2hrs even never met, yes...sometimes really too long and they are too much stamina..or something else! yesterday one that really was porn style. I am accepting anyway for financial goal and i try to take more longer as much as can!
once i am in the booking time go fast! 1hr + 1hr from different punters means you work more! time to get ready, email, text and all staff! finally you work more with short booking (my opinion)

i prefer long, suffer maybe (not really, just more tolerance) and more discreet as well!

then depend about preferences! you can always propose shorter, when i did they always accepted that! many times i regretted to propose it

My worry is they are bed blockers so taking a large chunk of the time but not turning up.
I'd be loosing other clients turning them down  .I want to offer later bookings to them ie 6pm onward that way if they are tw I'd not loose out too badly .

This is why I charge a higher deposit for longer bookings, same if I have to travel a long way. The deposit amount is proportional to the value, of course it doesn't replace the full fee but it is something. Also some have actually on the day transferred the remainder of the fee some hours before the booking actually starts.

Ive asked them to call before hand .many wont bother.
Or they ask for postcode I say I'll send then wait to see if they ask for it .the genuine ones do.the tw never bother messaging and we all know why
