:FF
Yes it's true. I recently was dismissed from my job and it was because I was not hitting targets and my admin was not up to standard. So they did dismiss me.
Furthermore, l used my work laptop and must of signed in my as site and clearly saved my password for easy access.
Recieved a call from the agency to say they have found out I'm a call girl and they can not work with me again.
:FF
I did not say anything, changed my aw password and took off my picture.
Please give me advice, can my employer go to the police about this at all? Can they do anything about this? :FF

You're not doing anything illegal so why do you think they will contact police?
-
Why would the police be interested?
-
Do you show your face?
-
It's not illegal to have a profile on AW so don't worry.
-
Are you in a union (it is possible to join as an individual), usually offers free legal advice on both work and personal issues?
-
It isn't illegal to be an escort, nor is it illegal to be an escort at the same time as working a normal 'civvy' job in the UK so they would have no reason to get the police involved. It may be worth contacting ACAS (Have a google. They are an organisation who offer free legal advice for employment disputes) I have called them in the past when I was going through a redundancy in a previous 'civvy' job and they're really helpful.

Okay thankyou guys, I did not show my face but they managed to get into my whole profile, seen videos of me etc like I said I've changed the password so if entered again they would only get the front page due to the link saved on the laptop. I was really thinking if they gave any saved content as I was using they're laptop to the police, could they do anything in that way??

I'm sorry that this has happened, it must have made you feel awful and my heart goes out to you.
It's not illegal to be an escort in this country, or to have an AW profile, so the police wouldn't do anything. They won't go to the police anyway.
Having said that you have put yourself in a dicey situation - most companies/agencies have in their contracts that you can't use laptops etc. for personal use, and those that don't will not allow the use of sites like AW. Even if the company didn't show your profile, the fact that you accessed AW will probably be enough for them to not work with you. I'm 99.9999999% sure it will be gross misconduct.
Even if you appealed and won - all they have to say is that no assignments match your skillset, and not give you any work.
You're reference is likely to just confirm your dates of employment, as they can't give you a bad reference.....however what they don't say in this situation is more important than what they do.
Sorry I can't post nicer advice. I hope you're OK.

Thankyou very much curveygirl. I'm still in shock tbh and feel like a fool to let that slip. I did not delete my history neither my saved websites clearly. Tbh I even forgot I went on aw as I've not worked as an escort since June, July was when I started the job.
Well yes I've left and can't work for that agency again, I can accept that. Yeah I just thought that they may of got evidence and just reported me in some way. Yes I'd agree about what can are they really going to say?? Me knowing them they probably don't want the embarrassment of it all. Lol
Well I did leave before they found my aw page hence why they had the laptop. So I don't need to worry about gross misconduct etc oh well I bet I made there weekend lol more So u would of never of guessed with me which makes me chuckle more.
Anyway I got more references of good work colleagues anyway so I do t need to use them. Thankfully.

I never save the password for AW or my own website on any device including PC and laptop, just not worth the risk of someone else accessing - and all my devices are password protected with a password which is not shared.

There is absolutely nothing the police would be interested in, as long as you are over 18 and legally allowed to be in this country, there's nothing going on that requires their involvement.
I'm glad that you have other references you can use, that's good news.

Wait.. If they "fired you" because you were running your own business (nothing to do with your office job) from the company computer while on work hours then yes... they have a point I'm afraid as that's obviously a big no-no in any job. However... if they fired you because you were dating guys in exchange of money, perfume, diners (select your favourite thing) that's really your private life and as long as it doesn't interfiere with your job it's absolutely none of their business and they have no rights.
I believe the best strategy in your case is to tell them that a bitter ex created that profile as revenge ("porn revenge", it's very common these days) and keep a high chin.I'm saying because if this issue ever pops up in another interview (rumours travel) just put a teary eye face and throw in the revenge porn thing. Never EVER admit because this issue can really interfere in your civvie profesional life.

Just put it down to experience and a hard lesson learned.
Don’t dwell on it as to be honest with you there isn’t much you can do.
-
Even if you'd been an exemplary employee using the company laptop is a big no-no. But there's nothing they can do now they've fired you anyway. Just hopefully word won't spread outside that single company.

Hey girls thankyou. :FF well l will say that @Ana30 thankyou very much as they told my agent that they have "seen videos and pics of me" It is the fact an website was saved and a password on they're laptop, hence why it took them to see such things. I really dont even remember having time to look at this at work, prob wen i was at home after. This was found after they dismissed me from work. None of this was during. If anyone knows about employer law please get in touch. I contacted the information commission office they was helpful as the argument is that she's contacting my previous employers for information and she's had no consent to do so. Yes big massive lesson and it will never happen. I hope it never happened to other women as I thought it would never after all the years I've been working in both jobs.
-
Employment law won't help you here. To put it in black and white:
1. You accessed an 18+ website on company laptop
2. You used a company laptop to run a side business
3. that side business was in a grey legal and moral area (I don't think it but that's what an employer will say)
4. You bring the agency/company into disrepute.
You have absolutely zero case I'm afraid - I'm an escort and I would fire you too. Sorry no offense. :-*

I agree with CG, my friends job is to check employees computer use. As many employees mis-use work computers for personal jollies which is forbidden and hide porn files and upload viruses and malware that can infect the company's businesses systems.
You were dismissed for work performance not misuse of their computer.
If I'm reading it right you were dismissed before they saw the material-your adult work profile.
You are concerned with the consent issue. Why exactly has she contacted your previous employer? Is there more to this?
-
The consent issue is interesting. Why exactly has she contacted your previous employer? Is there more to this?
I was thinking the same thing. Maybe the company fears a lawsuit and is trying to collect some dirt on you? But is this legal???
-
Are there details missing to this?
All I read is that your previous employer found your AW on their laptop because you logged in on it.
You’re always dismissed from the company so no risk of being dismissed/fired.
You haven’t done anything illegal in terms of sex work.
They could get funny about you using their laptop for your own personal use but would they really be bothered as you’ve already been dismissed.
I wouldn’t have thought it would be worth their time pursuing the laptop use issue, as you’re no longer employed. What would be the point. You’re not the first person to use a work laptop for personal.
If you work for an agency and that employer have notified them of your AW profile, videos, whatever. Then yes it’s a crap situation for you but there’s nothing they can do. They might just not give you more work.
Go find another agency! Make up a last employer, ask a friend to vouch for you, say you were self employed, I don’t know, but if you’re worried about a reference you might need to find a way to get a good one
I just don’t think this situation is as bad as you think it is, unless there’s stuff we don’t know?
Hold your head high. Being a sex worker is legal, it’s just frowned upon that’s all.
Maybe you could say the profile, videos etc were just webcam with you and your ‘controlling’ boyfriend/ex boyfriend and you only did it to keep him happy. Sob story might help, but then again, who are you explaining yourself to? Your old employer? You don’t need to explain anything to them.
I understand it feels shit that people have found out, but this feeling will pass, I promise :) xx

Honestly, it sucks and I'm sorry it happened but you need to just move on I'm afraid.
-
Ugh, what a crappy situation. I would say like many have mentioned on here. Find a different one, and if it ever comes up, you could always just deny. Deny it, till your death bed and say it was from a previous relationship.
