Durex Naturals - any experience?
« on: 28 October 2023, 03:10:39 pm »
I'm stocking up on condoms and noticed a new type that Durex offer - it uses a water based lube.

Has anyone any experince of using these in work situations?

Is it just a splodge of the normal Durex lube in a tube that I find dries up and gets rather sticky - not very effective as a lube unless you keep plastering it on - or is it something new that will last the duration of doing the deed?

Even the conventional oil based ones need topping up for me - but difficult to stop and start clients when they are going at it.... they do also stain bedding so a water based version that performs would be good.

Also I notice that Durex do ones with extra lube - I assume the normal oily stuff - again any experience? Is it just the same as adding a bit more when it is first put on?????????????

There seem to be more options added every time I order.......... are so many varieties needed for what is a simple product?? or is it all a sales con to make us spend more?

I love them! They don’t feel like normal lube. Just wet? It’s hard to explain lol. They are white which I found strange at first and they feel different but I much prefer them now. They seem to stay wet.

I use the pink one and am getting on well with it.

I used to use Boots own lube but they seem to have discontinued it. I tried about five new ones and the pink naturals came up on top.

I haven't tried the Durex version but have recently started using the Skyns extra lubricated ones. V comfy, not 'sticky' feeling, and saves having to subtly slide a lubricated hand over the condom before engaging in action

No - it is the name of one of their condom ranges. They are rubbers with a water based lube ready applied.... no oily stuff

I had placed my online order without them before I read your recommendation so I bought some in Boots yesterday.

I used them for the first time with a client this morning - I really liked them. I used with a regular who takes a long time to finish in PIV and it was smooth and slippy right until the end. Client said he was fine with them.
Smell was good too.
Because they are not see through, it makes it more difficut to check if they have not leaked.... you can't easily see the level of sperm inside at the end but that is a minor issue.

Thank you, does this mean Durex have fixed their reliability issues? I avoid Durex because of their reputation for splitting, they do have a lube range called 'natural'.

I have never had a Durex split or break. I used quite a few until I started using Pasante a couple of years ago (low price in Savers shops).

Is the reputation of Durex splitting (that I have seen mentioned elsewhere) a new thing?

One thing I read mentioned that Durex split if you stretch and "snap" them on like a sock or  stretchy hat. I have always used the roll down method that is described on the durex instructions.... but you need to wipe of any precum if you use the roll down method otherwise you can pull it/dribble it down and stll have it on the outside at the base... sti risk

The Durex reliability issues have been mentioned many times in variety of places, for now here is a thread;

Definitely - I wouldn't touch one with a barge pole and they're the only brand I've ever known repeatedly break compared with Mates, Pasante, Skyns and Trojans (and probably others).

The brand is nothing to do with breakage when applying using the stretch and snap method though; that's just plain doing it wrong. It's part of the reason I never let punters put them on, since it's amazing how many haven't got a clue how to.

I am another one in the no Durex mindset. When I first started escorting I got durex and had 2 split in the first month. Another escort told me to use Mates and I have done so ever since. Maybe Durex has gotten better but I haven’t tried since. The new lubricated condoms sounds interesting though.

They don't sound at all appealing to me. The lube should be on the outside of the condom, not the inside, and the fit fairly snug. Any movement iside means it could be liable to slip off.

I just want to check are you using oil based lubricant and if so are you aware oils shouldn't be used with latex?
