Yes! I second liquid silk from ann summers.  By far the best lube in my opinion and not too expensive as it it always on offer!

I used lube but found the skin got so wet inside me during sex my pussy kept making loud  farts it wouldn't stop I know it sounds funny writing it but so embarrassing with clients.
Other wise it's dry and sore

"Yes", the water-based version, is my personal choice.  Works a treat.

I use the vagisil mouisture gel instead of lube and I haven't had thrush or been uncomfortable whatsoever since. It's a god send!

If you need moisture, Replens.

To prevent BV, BalanceActiv or Canesbalance.

For general vaginal health (and also helps prevent BV) I like Multi-Gyn Actigel.

For general vaginal health (and also helps prevent BV) I like Multi-Gyn Actigel.

Im not familar with Replens but regarding the other 3, my local GUM do not recommend these at all. Slightly going off topic, but they all contain parfume(?) which can cause BV to (re)occur. This only came to my attention when I was informed of this from a GUM nurse earlier this year; then I experienced it myself (after taking Metronidazole)  :FF

If you want to restore the ph levels in your vag OP, use a high strength probiotic. I have this one (see link below) and its the best probiotic Ive ever purchased (& Ive purchased several diff brands over several years, pffff!) It truly is high in strength, are multi purpose and not to sound weird, but its actually made my vag more juicier (weird to put it like that but its the honest truth!!!) You cant really go wrong with a 6 month supply at that price too: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01FDBXQWE/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

All the best!

I've also used a probiotic, but not sure of its efficacy. However, more than one nurse at St Mary's recommend BalanceActiv or equivalent to me. This is the ingredient list, and I can't see any perfume? It would seem pretty odd for a BV treatment to add anything that exacerbated BV?

Lactic acid, Glycogen, Propylene glycol, Methylhydroxypropyl cellulose, sodium lactate, water.

Thats more or less what I said to the nurse at my local GUM clinic but she insisted this was the case and said you can tell it contains perfume by smelling it as it has a light scent. Multi-Gyn Actigel actually used to work for me but it was a temp solution, but when I used Metronidazole and then the gel my BV came back!

Being a BV sufferer for over 10 years I get it really bad so as you can imagine Ive tried everything under the sun and the only thing thats worked for me/has been a long term benefit is Metronidazole and the high strength probiotics Ive linked above.

Lots of things have a smell - oranges, for example?  That doesn't mean they contain artificial perfume, just that one or more of the components or ingredients smells of something; very few things smell of nothing at all. I think I'd be finding a new GUM.

In the meantime, the OP was talking about maintaining general vaginal health not treating a problem, and we have BV/thrush threads already. I don't know a lot about Replens, but I remember other people posting good things about it on here before so that might well be worth a look :).

I dont believe oranges in our vag would help restore our ph levels though  :P and most of us are fully aware that putting products containing perfume/soap up there will imbalance the ph levels

I was just passing on info Ive rec'd (and experienced myself after taking Flagyl). I was aware I was digressing re the BV, but whats more important is the OP has lots of options now so its all about trial and error to see what works best for her

OP, are you on any form of hormonal contraception? I am on Depo Provera and it's quite well known for causing vaginal dryness. I use lube during bookings but it doesn't cause me any discomfort in between bookings.

I remember pulling out some 'fifty shades of grey' silk I got as a freebie on an offer with lovehoney in front of a much more established working girl than me and her face was pure horror - she referred me to Liquid Silk and Ive used it ever since! Great stuff.

The only two times that I've had a condom rip during sex is when and because I've been soo dry and haven't put lube on - my pum doesNOT like being wet for clients (and recently even the men in my personal life.. :-\)

Best of luck!
xx

I swear by Sliquid lube, I can only use 1 or 2 of that brand, the purple one seems to be the best for me. I'm so sensitive to everything it drives me nuts. I find condoms dry me out, I use mates skyn. That multi-gyn probiotic stuff is good too.

Where do you all buy your Liquid Silk please?

Have always used Lovehoney for Lube, but wondered if there is anywhere cheaper.

I have bought it from amazon, don't remember it being that cheap, but it's there if you need it!

I found Replens and a similar one made me go like cottage cheese inside and I most definitely didn't have thrush at time I used it. I don't know why that happened but I've not used anything like it since. I use Liquid Silk. But haven't found an answer to getting back my natural wetness for years now.

my vagina is also very dry, for the reserves I use Sensilube - Durex, using Chinese balls for 30 minutes a day has helped me to improve my lubrication. I recommend it to my gynecologist and I feel better in that aspect

I don't have dry problem, but for sure it's risky for health and sometimes some condoms can cause this even for me, or very long intercourse. So I buy Skyn Original condoms (black pack with gold font).
But for lubricant I would use Lelo as they also produce the most delicate sex toys and I think a very good lube.

Thats a good tip. Thanks for sharing :)

As I have become more full time, I am always worried about catching things and putting my overall health at risk. Been looking into it and things like thrush are so much more common if you have sex and your quite dry (Ie not turned on) this happens to me most of the time so want to protect myself by using the right lube to begin with. Looking into it, says the best ones for this are lubes that dont have glycerin, acetate and the most common ingredient in most lubes, propylene glycol! Really want to stick to this, managed to find a couple in Ann summers, called jo organic natural love.

Just wondered, any others out there that could be suited for me too :)

So possibly TMI here (my vag appears to have broken down) but I'm in a bit of a predicament here and need some product recommendations if possible. I've done a search but most seemed linked to thrush  or BV

Months ago I started noticing I need lube for anything (I rarely used it before) but no issue just got more lube.  Problem is it has gotten consistently worse. I've had to stop shaving and wearing lace underwear. I'm tearing.  Even with lube before and during bookings it just keeps drying  :FF  My reg has commented it and bless him, he thinks it's his fault, last time we just watched tv bc the pain was too much. I'm having to stop penetration mid bookings so it seems unfair on clients to advertise fs if this continues (I got kicked off cam). Can someone please recommend a product or something to help? Some kind of gentle super lube? I need to work.

(Im up to date with STI tests. Nurse said its hormonal. I've cut out all tanning, perfumed body wash, shaving etc. Idk what to do, I Had a booking yesterday and I've torn again, I'm now sitting here during tax month covered in Sudo cream.  :( .)

Sorry to hear I actually have to be real careful as I tend to tear easily. I have had to limit bookings and what I offer in them due to this and other reasons. BV is more likely to make you too wet (discharge). I had a period of two/ three months where I could barely work as it was too painful for penetration. My tests were fine but I went back and it turned out it was BV causing irritation and blistering - the wetness which had caused this.

Presumably BV wasn’t picked up.

The lube I use which I’ve found the gentlest is KY jelly. Try going commando as much as you can too

Thank you

How old are you Treetop, i.e. could it be menopausal? I haven't tried them, but you can get stuff like Replens from all major chemists. Might be worth using some last thing at night, or before a booking.

Do some condoms make it worse, maybe try switching brand?

Also bear in mind it could be partly psychological, i.e. if you're nervous about being hurt, you'll dry up even more.

Thanks kay, I think your 100% right about psychology making this worse! I'll try to work on this. (Im only 30ish but (Have had an operation which I'm aware can trigger an early menopause, my gps is saying wait but unfortunately my bills are saying find a quick solution.)

Im going to ask a chemist about Replen tomorrow as a couple of people have mentioned it here.
