DS Alan Clark, who is leading the inquiry, urged anyone who had made contact through the website to get in touch with police.

?If anyone has information in relation to the man shown in the film or the photographs or on the website itself, please contact us on 0800 783 2589 and we will get back to you in strict confidence,? he said.

I think whoever in this forum got in touch with this tosser should  call the number. Problem is revealing our occupation  ??? I'm not sure if the po-po would be OK with that or if the "disclosed information with personal details" will be used against you at some point. I don't trust the coppers.

It's not against the law to be a prostitute and so long as she isn't running a brothel or controlling anyone else there's nothing the police would want to do about that. In fact most police forces only want to protect individuals and prevent further crimes.

He's been charged and will be before magistrates on the 26th April: http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/crime/computer-consultant-charged-over-sex-website-8569407.html

The story doesn't say but rather than being the start of a trial, that's very likely to be when the magistrates will just send the case to a crown court for a later jury trial, because the charges chosen are 'trafficking a woman within the UK for the purpose of sexual exploitation' and 'voyeurism'.

The former charge is around arranging or facilitating travel within the United Kingdom for another person when you intend that you / someone else will do something involving a sexual offence (such as 'causing or inciting prostitution for gain' or the voyeurism he's also charged with). It "almost certainly" involves a sentence of over a year if found guilty: he's in deep shit.

It's going to be interesting to see if agencies start getting charged with this. If so, people running agencies may well start crapping themselves: at 14 years, the maximum penalty is twice the one for 'control for gain'.
'The Ian formerly known as SW5'. What they said: "Indispensable", "You are our best resource", and (hours later!) "I'm afraid that you're being made redundant..."

This gentleman has pleaded guilty to these charges today, to be sentenced shortly (I can't post a link because I'm on my phone, but I've just watched it on Channel 4 news). Apparently a decent jail sentence is in the offing - couldn't happen to a nicer bloke.
