Chlamydia
« on: 04 December 2017, 11:14:09 pm »
Arghhh, what a mess.
I am convinced that i have chlamydia. I know lots of people dont show symptoms but for a few weeks now i have had this excruciating burning pain when i go for a pee. Over the past few days ive been feeling very feverish too, but can you catch normal vaginal Chlamydia from OWO or just Mouth Chlamydia?
I'm trying to figure out if it was a punter or someone else in my personal life. I have been to the GUM clinic for my monthly checkup so waiting on results now...

I don't have the answers, but there's nothing you can do until you get test results. You could just have a bit of thrush and be under the weather. I really hope that's the case.

That sounds more like cystitis to me. I'd be over to the pharmacists and ask them but have a google in the meantime and see what you think :).

I forgot to say, ive also had 3 urine tests in the past couple of months, (the last one being a week ago) and all came back fine... would a urine sample show Cystitis or can i rule that out? Im really stressing

It is possible to have a UTI and it not show up in urinalysis. This could be because your infection marker might be lower than the 'standardised' level needed to show up on a test - but people can still have symptoms with even a lower amount of bacteria present!

Maybe go to your GP? They're more likely to give you some antibiotics as you've had the symptoms a little while now :(

Hope you're on the mend soon!

xx

Drink plenty of water and try cranberry juice/supplements or an OTC cystitis cure and see if that helps.

This isn't a Chlamydia symptom.

If this was me I would do a urine sample now and get it to the docs and tell them your think you have Cystitis, then go to the pharmacy and get the sachets you add to water, their normally just called Cystitis relief and you can get generics from ASDA.  The sachets work really quickly and will give you fast relief of symptoms, but you may need antibiotics.

The GU clinic you go to may not test for UTI, you could always ring and ask them.

I second the possibility of a UTI. When I had it at uni I had the obvious burning but also a fever, stomach pains and nausea. I felt super unwell and called 111 and they told me to go to A&E/night walk in and got antibiotics there and then. This is just to say UTI's can show up differently in different people.

But go to your GP to be properly diagnosed. Fell better soon x

Apart from the burning sensation when  your seeing no idea but could it be the Herpes Virus you often get flu like symptoms with this  and unfortunately most of the population has it without knowing. They can?t swab for it in the clinics unless you have wounds. Wounds don?t always look like the horror pics you see online some can look like razor cuts or even just a tender spot

Definitely get checked for cystitis and get antibiotics if you need them... if left without treatment it can end up being a kidney infection and that can sometimes lead to a spell in hospital and feeling pretty dreadful.
