Do You Sit Dolled Up Waiting For The Phone To Ring ?
« on: 16 July 2015, 06:36:53 pm »
Hi,

this post is more targetted to people who 'doll up' for appointments. On your incall days do you literally do your hair and makeup and just sit and wait  ???

I ask this because i've previously only done prebookings now i have a job i do evening work and some of it is last minute... i realised that most people call and want to see you like now or whatever but then my hair and makeups not done

ofcourse the only solution to this would be for me to sit and do my hair and makeup and just wait for the phone..?

is this what people do ?

sorry if this sounds like a stupid question but i've never had short notice bookings before ever.

I hate being sat all tarted up waiting  :FF

I tend to shower and do hair in the morning and have outfits ready on the bed and just wear comfy loose clothing. I never wear make up for bookings, so i don't have to worry about that. If the guys require almost immediate bookings then they aren't in a position to expect you fully made up etc in my honest opinion.

I suppose for short notice bookings you'd have to? I only go into work if I have pre bookings, I've been cancelled on before and sat around all dolled up but could only manage an hour before I got pissed off, and of course as soon as I got in my car the phone rang!

I suppose if you're patient and generally busy then do it x

I do, yes.
I get ready in the morning and then wait but I work from hotels.
In the interim, I work on my PC and watch telly etc.

I don't really get "dolled up", I don't wear much make-up and my hair is so straight (it's long), so there's not much I need to do about that either..
I have my shower etc. in the morning, turn my phone on, and if I haven't got any bookings booked, I'll wait for the phone to ring,
so I can be ready in half an hour, just put my lingerie (or any requests what they want me to wear) on, freshen up a bit if I need to
and that's me..  ;)
But I do basically sit ready, waiting for action lol.
I don't have to be perfect, but I'm perfect at being me!

It depends too if you work from home, I work an hours drive from home, if I worked from home I'd get dolled up and wait I guess. X

Nope.

Short notice for me has always been at least an 1 hour so I have enough time to get ready. But If I'm touring or camming then I will be ready and dressed (or undressed!) at my designated work time.

Yes I do. I do my hair and makeup and wear pi's or something and then when I get a booking I throw on my whore clothes.

Not at this time of year. September onwards yes (although my strategy may have to change now).

I'm usually half done anyhow, the only thing that takes time is curling my hair.

The rest I can kinda do in my travel time.

Yeah I do as I wear a lot of makeup and I can't stand being rushed. Most of my bookings are short notice but I like being prepared

I'm generally about halfway there in that I'm showered, my room is ready and my next set of clothes is out. I wear very little makeup and all I do with my hair is untie it and give it a shake, so provided I haven't just finished a booking that minute I can be ready in ten-fifteen minutes.

I find that punters who expect to turn up NOW! are usually sensible enough to know you're not going to suddenly be trussed up like an extra from Moulin Rouge :).

I am always smartly made up and hair in place so it is like any other day to be honest.  I do not wear tarty make up just the usual amount as if I was out at Tescos or mixing with friends.

I wear casual clothes unless I have a booking.  That way all I have to do is to get changed last minute which isn't a job in itself, and get condoms etc. out.

Short notice bookings can be trying. They want the most effort for the least amount of money sometimes. Just be yourself and treat any booking that you feel comfortable in taking as you would have done using your previous experience.
Or by reading through the relevant SAAFE sections  ;)

It's great being indie but it's a different mindset if it's not how you're used to working.

Gosh no! But I do make sure my face is done and my hair is done and then I carry on with my day, when I get an appointment I will have a fresh shower, brush my teeth again and reapply anything I might need too.

Yes definately, but I suppose it depends if you have a work pad or not, when I'm there I'm there to work so yes I sit all ready, it keeps my head in work mode and stops me popping into town shopping as I'm in the city center.
