I am just wondering what do you do if the punter says they are deaf and cannot phone?
I have a few deaf punters including regulars, and all can manage a quick phone call. Most people with hearing loss are like me, where it's either gradual in both ears or one side doesn't work at all but the other is manageable depending on the surroundings, and all have emailed and explained. Many use hearing aids, although I don't so can only answer the phone on my left side.
The 'I'm deaf so can't call' texts over the years have all been timewaster types with no further enquiry about when they want a booking or how long for. Relatively few people are so completely and profoundly deaf that they can't use the phone at all, although of course there will be some. I can't see anybody I can't direct to my door over the phone, so I would explain that and apologise for not being able to see them.
I suppose I could send a friend out to get them if there were really exceptional circumstances, but I can't imagine what those would be. I certainly wouldn't go myself.
