I'm considering changing my number. Not because I had bad situation or anything, I just had it for 2 years now, so basically since I started. My services are different now and also look totally different. I'm thinking that changing number should be a next step of re-branding myself.
But from the other hand I'm afraid I might loose some regulars because of it? And I have few really good reviews on those punting review websites - they come right up when you Google my current number. And it took me a while to get them, but I don't really know how often clients actually Google numbers. Maybe they don't matter as much? What were your experiences with changing number or do most of you keep it the same for years?

From what you’ve said I really don’t see any point in changing your number because it has no benefit to you but you’ve stated a few things as to why having your current number would be good for you work wise, you’ve got your reviews and regulars that are linked to your current number even though telling regs of a number change isn’t a big deal, but  some punters keep numbers and might still want to come back to you 2/3 times in a year but you would lose them because they wouldn’t be considered as regs. You can still up your look or totally revamp under the same name and number.
I would only want to change numbers if I had something bad happening linked to that number and it was necessary for a total rebrand.

I agree with MMW, but there's also no reason you couldn't keep your old number for regulars (who won't look at your ads very often) to get in touch with you and put your new number on your ads? Obviously you'd need another phone, but any old handset will do and it'll filter down eventually :)

I've had my number about fifteen years, but I used to use two so I could have a separate one for Adultwork.

Ok so the main reason is specifically because I'm a masseuse and I use to do very 'proper' strong massage. Which some clients appreciated, but now that I look back I think I probably scared away most of them  :P It took my a while to realise that punters here mostly prefer gentle caressing then proper massage (even if they say they do) I'll add that I'm touring around so if I change numbers I hope they might come again and see that I won't torture them anymore.  :angel:
But my aw ad will stay the same because I can't give up my reviews there
